whitequark: When will it be safe to start filling in platforms? I want to do a follow up blog post for porting a migen platform for nmigen (maybe just focusing on the stuff that changed), and I want to use icestick as an example (as previously)
<whitequark>
cr1901_modern: give me a day or two to merge the actual code that implements platforms
<cr1901_modern>
Ack. Even if porting platforms isn't all that different (so you could do it in bulk), I'm happy to do the icestick port as part of organically writing a post (if not I can do it after-the-fact, which I did for the original post).
<whitequark>
i already did icestick and hx1k
<cr1901_modern>
It'll still be fine to do it after-the-fact. I chose icestick b/c it was simple and easy to test (io, multiple connectors w/o ridiculous amounts of io like the hx8k board lattice provides). Not much can go wrong
<whitequark>
yeah, and you can use it for reference
<whitequark>
there are no connectors yet tho
<cr1901_modern>
Ack

[mattermost] <pkulik> @sb10q last week you asked about sayma meeting, do you want to meet today?
<mtrbot-ml_>
[mattermost] <sb10q> @pkulik yes, but I'm in shenzhen for a conference, so that will depend on a low-latency GFW bypass
<mtrbot-ml_>
[mattermost] <sb10q> normally I can bypass that crap without issue, but they update it from time to time

[mattermost] <sb10q> I tried discourse but was disgusted by the bloat
<mtrbot-ml_>
[mattermost] <sb10q> Flarum is a bit unpolished (in the admin interference mostly) but does not eat a gigabyte of RAM for doing nothing
<mtrbot-ml_>
[mattermost] <sb10q> I don't know how ruby stuff has degenerated so much. The core interpreter seems very reasonable, especially when compared to e.g. cpython
<mtrbot-ml_>
[mattermost] <sb10q> You can even compile it for an embedded target and it just works

>The core interpreter seems very reasonable- AIUI, actually parsing ruby is a nightmare. There's a Japanese book (unofficially translated to English) that explains _why_ it's so messy, but it's still not something I want to touch :P.

sb10q: Would blog posts about m-labs products be acceptable to link on your new forum, or would you consider that noise?

[mattermost] <sb10q> Sounds OK, what blog posts are those?
