ynezz: can you reach out the designer who did the new logo? it would be great if we could have the raw files. pdf is not a good fileformat. not sure if pdf even compress the things.
<dorf>
you want svg.
<dorf>
lynxis: you got a url for the pdf? I'm sure I can get that in svg pronto.
<aparcar[m]>
ynezz: do you plan to update the wiki?

adrianschmutzler: morning
<aparcar[m]>
adrianschmutzler: please check the last three commits of my staging tree. If that works (and performs) than it would make all manual changes of PKG_RELEASE obsolete
<aparcar[m]>
most importantly https://git.openwrt.org/?p=openwrt/staging/aparcar.git;a=commit;h=2b0851c8e27948e20a0812970155205db21ddcf5
<nbd>
aparcar[m]: i'd prefer setting PKG_RELEASE:=$(PKG_RELEASE_AUTO) in top level context, and guard it with PKG_LEVEL_AUTO = $(if $(DUMP),,$(call autorelease))
<nbd>
that way it is guaranteed to be evaluated only once
<nbd>
and not during metadata scanning
goliath has quit [Quit: SIGSEGV]

please note PKG_RELEASE_AUTO needs to be defined with = (in an include) and PKG_RELEASE with :=

nbd: thanks for the quick feedback, where would I set toplevel context? in package-defaultss.mk?
<nbd>
i think it needs to be in rules.mk so it's available early enough for the :=
bookworm has joined #openwrt-devel
<nbd>
maybe just call the variable in rules.mk AUTO_RELEASE = ...
<nbd>
one thing we have to consider is that this will be quirky when people use source tarballs or shallow clones

<aparcar[m]>
it then fallsback to the time epoch
<aparcar[m]>
which is defined in the release
<aparcar[m]>
*tarball release
<aparcar[m]>
which means everything becomes the same date
<aparcar[m]>
I don't see an issue with that, do you?

weekends are always slow

Also the waves are big so people join the spectacle at the beach
<aparcar[m]>
philipp64: any pressing patches?
<philipp64>
north sea... baltic... mediterranean... atlantic... what beaches are we talking about?
<philipp64>
nothing pressing... I felt guilty that DDNS for isc-dhcp4 doesn't support 10/8 and 172.16/12 so I added support for that... don't like that I have to make two passes through the "config dhcp *" sections, though... but I guess it's unavoidable.
<philipp64>
though I'm guessing that 95% of people use 192.168/16 for their NATted networks.
<philipp64>
the other two seem to be used by corporations so you don't want to have your home network conflict with work if you're VPN'ing.
<philipp64>
aparcar[m]: remind me where you are?
<philipp64>
I'm in Idaho, so the nearest ocean is a 9-10 hour drive (depending on how many bathroom stops the kids make and if there's snow in the passes...)

<philipp64>
ah... big waves indeed if you're on the north shore.
<philipp64>
used to take my son to Bellows Beach to learn to boogie board...
<philipp64>
never checked out the surf at Makua Beach... always had something else to do.
