what's going on? "opkg" is telling me a package is installed with "list", but not installed with "files"... https://paste.centos.org/view/63d83155

philipp64: maybe it's a meta package and doesn't have any files?

it definitely contains files...
<philipp64>
I think /usr/lib/opkg/status got corrupted...
<grift>
i suspect that the current version packaged in openwrt is broken anyway

<karlp>
I suspect the 4.1.x is broken too, just differently
<karlp>
4.1.early was broken, I'll get around to testing 4.1.today sometime, maybe next week.
<karlp>
what do you use lws with? always good to know more test apps
<grift>
ttyd and the basics do work but for some reason ssl does not work and i suspect thats lws related
<karlp>
given it's breakage rate, and the communication style of upstream, it's not always very motivating to try out new versions.
<karlp>
you can try it out if you like, and let me know, but it needs to work for both ttyd and mosquitto.
<grift>
thanks, probably best for me to await your test first. if that passes then I could test it with ttyd is that helps you. I am not familiar with mosquitto
<ynezz>
hsp: FYI there is #openwrt dedicated for such kind of discussions, this is #openwrt-devel dedicated to idling :)
<hsp>
What can happen if I keep the settings?
<Tapper>
hsp trust us you don't want to keep settings when going from ar71xx to ath79xx
<Tapper>
Some of the network names are different you could brick your router.

adrianschmutzler: are you kidding?
<adrianschmutzler>
that cyrillic thing was absolutely unnecessary
<f00b4r0>
it was very necessary. He wrote kernel2minor and kernel2minor is commented in cyrillic
<f00b4r0>
i don't see anything wrong in what I wrote and I resent your comment.
<adrianschmutzler>
That was a sarcastic comment which is not appropriate in these circumstances. Or at least not nice enough for rule #12.
<adrianschmutzler>
You may of course argue whether cyrillic for commenting is appropriate or not, but not like this.
<f00b4r0>
*facepalm*
<f00b4r0>
i'll refrain from commenting on GH moving forward then.

sorry, I'm glad that you discussed this and highlighted the challenges. but you were looking down at him with that comment and that's not appropriate.
<adrianschmutzler>
Of course that's not the worst case I ever saw, but it was slightly over the edge IMO.
<f00b4r0>
there was a smiley and it was really meant as an inside joke
<f00b4r0>
but okay. I guess the edges are getting closer as time moves on.
<adrianschmutzler>
It's really not worth the noise

in any case I'll stop commenting on this PR. I made my technical point and I'll leave it at that. Let's see if they come up with reviewable code.
<adrianschmutzler>
yes, but please don't be offended.
<adrianschmutzler>
I just thought this was slightly inappropriate and wanted to prevent further comments in this direction. and now may just go back to the subject, please.
<f00b4r0>
it'll be forgotten tomorrow. I'ev had a bad day.
<adrianschmutzler>
and as you stated correctly, the facts are on the table now, so let's wait what people will do with them
