<beneroth> Good morning
<beneroth> DoS (kernel panic) vulnerability in FreeBSD and Linux Kernel (TCP Stack): https://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2019/06/17/5
<CORDIC> Good morning beneroth.
<beneroth> Good morning dear CORDIC
<CORDIC> :3
<Regenaxer> Hi beneroth, CORDIC!
<CORDIC> Good morning Regenaxer.
<beneroth> Hi Regenaxer :)
<Regenaxer> ☺/
<beneroth> it seems to be adding one iptables rule is the best mitigation (for all 3 CVEs), no need to actually disable TCP_SACK: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SecurityTeam/KnowledgeBase/SACKPanic

<Regenaxer> Hi rick42, yes, very lonely here
<rick42> hi Regenaxer! I hope all is well with his new job
<Regenaxer> I exchanges some mails with him today. He fould deficiencies in @lib/wide.l and fixed them
<Regenaxer> hmm, I don't know
<rick42> what is @lib/wide.l used for?
<Regenaxer> He said it is in fact the *same* job, but defferent management
<Regenaxer> Unicode
<rick42> ah thanks
<Regenaxer> find out if a char takes 2 spaces on screen
<Regenaxer> used in @lib/led.l
xaadd has quit [Client Quit]
<rick42> does he use pil in his job?
<Regenaxer> I think he does not
<Regenaxer> else he would be allowed stay here
<rick42> oh, like me :( (not my fault. fault of customer that uses windows :)
<rick42> right!
<rick42> but i recently found out that, even if picolisp 64 could work with no issues on windows, that my stupid (but very nice) customer would still complain. :)
<Regenaxer> :(
<Regenaxer> With customers I never had an issue
<Regenaxer> They don't know
<rick42> i know this because they are having me re-write this text processor from the awk code I originally wrote to R because people there are incapable of learning awk (even though it's soooo easy!) ... but they learned a little R in a training class they get provided by the company
<rick42> ok Regenaxer that's good
<Regenaxer> well, it is because it was all browser based
<Regenaxer> nothing local on Windows
<rick42> what my customer doesn't realize is that they need in-house programmers, not some "data analysts" with poor programming skills and scant knowledge of R
<rick42> oh good for them.
<rick42> my idiots/customers are suposed to be technical people. lol
<Regenaxer> ☺
