<Nistur> mornin'
<mtsd> Good morning!
<Nistur> hullo mid-traumatic stress disorder
<Nistur> (that is the only thing I can think when I see your nick)
<Regenaxer> Hi Nistur, mtsd
<mtsd> Hi Regenaxer, how are things? Are you under lock-down?
<Regenaxer> All fine. Well, for me there is not much change :)
<Regenaxer> Lock-down is for restaurants, theaters, bars etc.
<Regenaxer> My daughter suffers (violonist), and my other daughter's boyfriend (jazz drummer)
<Nistur> no crazy night outs at the nightclubs for you any more then? :P

<Nistur> we get a new lockdown on Thursday I think... but it's unlikely to change things much for me either
<mtsd> Similar here, nightclubs are closed, but mild restrictions otherwise
<Regenaxer> Nistur, exactly :)
<mtsd> Not much change for me either. I sleep at night. No clubbing
<Nistur> the only change might be that some shops might be closed that I'd need things from... food shops I guess remain open, so that's easy, but DIY shops last time around had to have a collection system, which is not very practical, and I was hoping to get some work done in the next few weeks but oh well
<beneroth> well you have time until Thursday to buy your stuff. and for the cityfolk to spread the virus everywhere
<beneroth> crazy world
<Nistur> I don't have time before Thusday to buy it :P
<beneroth> but it's an emergency ;-)
<beneroth> for your mental health!
<Nistur> aha. I wanted to buy wood to enlarge (double) my shed, so I could move 'dirty' work into one half and 'clean' (electronics, 3D printer etc) into another... plus I'd have more storage so I could actually move in my shed...
<beneroth> we're having Triage in CH. no treatment for people over 85. :/
<Nistur> but, I have space to stand in my shed so, it's not critical yet :P I can focus on other things :P
<beneroth> Nistur, sounds like important hygienic measures
<beneroth> hehe
<Nistur> instead, I will probably use the time and energy in upgrading my 3D printer some more, and printing out a turntable to scan in my keyboard to continue the work digitally :D I've been putting together a BOM of things I need for the turntable
<Nistur> basically: an arduino, a stepper motor, some wires (which I obviously have) and... a 2.5mm TRS plug to use for the remote shutter on my camera
<Nistur> everything else I can print
<beneroth> cool project
<Nistur> then I Can scan _all the things)_
<Nistur> ... I can not type this morning
<Nistur> I blame my lack of penti keyboard...
<beneroth> print a second printer. as fallback. or to improve efficiency ;-)
<Nistur> my current printer is mostly aluminium, so I cannot print it
<Nistur> BUT
<Nistur> it's open source
<Nistur> and the aluminium is mostly standard extrusion stock
<beneroth> aluminum printer should be possible, no? xD
<Nistur> and I'm buying bits to upgrade it, meaning that I have the original bits 'spare'
<beneroth> I guess the cooling takes too long
<beneroth> oh good
<Nistur> so I'm considering, at some point, buying the extrusion, and reconstituting a franken-printer
<Nistur> but don't tell MrsNistur, as she will veto it immediately :P
<beneroth> psssst
<beneroth> just label your activities as "disaster recovery preparations" ;-)
<Nistur> :D
<beneroth> in Italy there were some 3d printer hobbyists printing a valve part for ventilators used for covid-19 patients. the original valve was not obtainable in large enough quantities (and overpriced, too)
<beneroth> (in the spring)
<beneroth> s/used/needed
<Nistur> I wouldn't dare print something needed for medical reasons yet. I have a really cheap printer (relatively speaking) and haven't fully run it in yet, and calibrated it. My print quality right now is... passable most of the time, but fails quite often too. Give me a month or two of play time with it, and I might be more comfortable with that if it came to it :P
<Nistur> also, it's currently sort of taken apart a bit while I install some additions that will hopefully improve reliability and performance :P
<Nistur> kind of itching to buy a glass build plate for it...
<beneroth> hehe
