mpapis: the SO question is about jekyll...
<mpapis>
workmad3, you could read about the asset pipeline and find out how they do it
<workmad3>
mpapis: probably not that useful for how to do that in jekyll though ;)
<mpapis>
always something :D
<workmad3>
Briareos1: I'm not sure in the case of jekyll... all the plugins I've seen around a specific js library or CSS library frequently tell you to put the js file in yourself, and then the plugin eases the use or config

workmad3, how about the postmodern tweet?
<workmad3>
mpapis: also, that doesn't help with ensuring that the file gets put into the site source in jekyll

heyhey, did you make good experiences using plain rails controllers as rubygems API? I have a rails app and consider using a router-mounted/rackmapped sinatra app as api but I'm not sure yet. :)

workmad3: hm yes, I also had a look at jquery-rails for example, but my first impression is: "too complicated for a basic js like this". however, I might just have been a little overwhelmed :)

Briareos1: one possibility would be to include a 'thor' generator in your gem that will copy the js file out of the gem and into a js/ or javascripts/ folder in the app

How do I know the source of a gem I install? e.g. 'gem install tzip'

andrunix, maybe --debug?
<andrunix>
mpapais: you mean when installing? Like: gem --debug install tzip

Or more appropriate I suppose, how do I know the source of a gem in the rubygems repository?

FYI, I'm still getting occasional connectivity issues when bundling: "Bundler::HTTPError: Net::HTTPServiceUnavailable:" followed by an html page with title "503 Connection refused"

I can get past it by running bundle again (and sometimes again), just want to make sure you all are aware of it.
