<TD-Linux> ebay is actually full of isa backplanes
<TD-Linux> anyone have a preferred isa backplane vendor

* kc8apf still wants an i386 SBC
<whitequark> kc8apf: isn't there a ton of those
<kc8apf> not when I've looked
<kc8apf> or at least, not at reasonable prices
<whitequark> $60
<kc8apf> huh. canada
<whitequark> marcan: oh btw, with glasgow using nmigen now, it's possible to add caching
<TD-Linux> my threadripper has a "FCH LPC Bridge" but no kernel driver is attached to that at all
<davidc__> whitequark: because of hierarchical ouptut generation?
<whitequark> davidc__: nope
<whitequark> because nmigen actually includes nmigen revision, yosys revision, yosys script, nextpnr command line in the hash
<davidc__> oh, sorry, I was thinking of different caching
<davidc__> makes sense for bitstream caching
<kc8apf> TD-Linux: if firmware set up all the decoding correctly, OS doesn't need to do much with lpc normally
<TD-Linux> sick the SB600 LPC controller docs from 2008 match my threadripper's ports
<TD-Linux> and I have 1 free "generic io port range" to do with what I please
<TD-Linux> oddly I have multiple parallel ports :^)

<_whitenotifier> [GlasgowEmbedded/Glasgow] whitequark f0bed24 - target.hardware: use upstream digest function.
<hellsenberg> TD-Linux: I haz a few boards with a NCT6776 SuperIO. while it only has one parallel port, it also has a strap to make the parallel port behave like a postcode card :D
<TD-Linux> mine passes two io port ranges through. 0x280 and 0x1640. I don't know what either is
<whitequark> uh... 0x280 is ne2k?
<TD-Linux> it's a lot of isa pnp cards I think
<whitequark> ah
<TD-Linux> there's a linux package called "ioport" that provides inb and outw commands
<whitequark> cute
<TD-Linux> oh this enables 512 byte wide swaths of io space. so that 0x280 one enables basically all of isa pnp space
<TD-Linux> includig my nct6775 sensor
<hellsenberg> :D
<TD-Linux> what should I call my lpc configuration utility
<TD-Linux> I'm thinking lpcglomp
<whitequark> lpcglomp
<hellsenberg> lol7

<whitequark> reminding about tags
<marcan> whitequark: let me see if I can take care of that now
<marcan> whitequark: so delete the tags and replace them with branches?
<whitequark> marcan: i... don't even remember what we decided
<marcan> I believe that was it :p
<whitequark> alright
<whitequark> let's do that
<marcan> whitequark: people will have to delete the tags locally though (for existing clones)
<marcan> git prefers tags over branches but does warn about an ambiguous refname in that case
<marcan> well, for "git checkout" it prefers branches
<marcan> which is the most important one I guess
<whitequark> right
<_whitenotifier> [GlasgowEmbedded/Glasgow] marcan pushed 1 commit to master [+0/-0/±1] https://git.io/fjNRg
<_whitenotifier> [GlasgowEmbedded/Glasgow] marcan 5366d8a - revC1: swap regulator library references
<whitequark> marcan: er, didn't greg already fix those?
<whitequark> or did he just rename
<marcan> he changed the values, but missed the library refs
<marcan> no real impact since the values override, but that makes it all consistent
<whitequark> excellent
<marcan> whitequark: I'm on my thinkpad now and don't have the setup to do clean fab outputs (need to configure some libs and stuff), but I'll push the tag changes and update the fabrication files when I get home
<whitequark> ack

<electronic_eel> ok, test jig board is built and running: https://imgur.com/tkXvqnf
<electronic_eel> everything i could easily check without having a Glasgow is ok
<electronic_eel> the voltage rail check in the picture shows it checking it's own 3v3 rail and my 5v lab supply
<electronic_eel> but 1v2 is open, so it is a fail
<electronic_eel> the i2c ics show up on a bus scan. but further checks have to wait until i receive the Glasgow from Greg.
