<FergusL> cnxsoft: quick question, there's no way the HDMI input on the Cube is to record, it's only to pass-through to the TV, right ?
<cnxsoft> FergusL: I'm not sure.
<FergusL> that's really weird
<FergusL> a few of these boxes now have HDMI input
<FergusL> but there is absolutely ZERO info as to what it's for
<abrasive> overlay or passthrough almost certainly
<abrasive> i can't imagine they'd have the bandwidth to store a stream like that
<abrasive> or maybe they actually have decent hi-res encoders? :|
<FergusL> the encoder should be fine I think, but yes regarding buffering and storing, doesn't look like it's what this box is made for

<FergusL> Udoo block diagram, nice
<FergusL> from a first look, their communication system between both the imx6 and Atmel ARM is nice
<FergusL> it offers a lot of possibilities
<FergusL> anybody already purchased on Alibaba ?
<cnxsoft> FergusL: The HDMI in is to connect the cable/satellite receiver, then you can have a menu overlay your live TV, and it can also get the EPG, so during searches it will show both online and digital TV results
<FergusL> okay cnxsoft, completely of no use to me haha
<cnxsoft> I don't know if the device can be used as a PVR however.
<FergusL> I'm only interested in all this for Linux, it's Linux or nothing
<FergusL> what about kickstarting an A20 or RK3188 linux/android devboard like the cubieboard as soon as all sources are out ?! haha. This is my dream

<rz2k> otavio: are you around?
<otavio> rz2k: yes
<rz2k> how do I correctly clean the yocto build directory? bitbake -c clean target didnt make much cleaning, I just deleted the tmp folder, is this ok?
* rz2k happen to face limits of 80GB hdd on his build machine
<otavio> rz2k: cleansstate
<otavio> rz2k: yes, you can remove tmp
<rz2k> otavio: also another couple of questions: is there mesa-utils-extra available in yocto/oe? I recently subscribed to meta-fsl mailing list and saw messages about 3d being dead on imx6q targets; is there a way to configure the image to not include the Sato desktop and just launch the Xorg with xtrem?
<rz2k> I mean I could just edit the generated image, but maybe there is a yocto/oe way to do this right
ArnieTheBest has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<otavio> rz2k: it does
<otavio> rz2k: you can have it in fsl-image-test
<otavio> rz2k: for xterm only, use core-image-x11
<rz2k> thanks otavio!
<rz2k> also wandboard-dual support seems to be ok for stuff that I've tested, only qt egl demos are dead both with qt egl demo launcher and qtdemo launcher (GL is somewhere in the menu).
<rz2k> stuff from /opt/vivante seems to be ok, though.

<otavio> rz2k: really? hum
<otavio> rz2k: qt is know issue and I have an untested patch for it
<otavio> rz2k: but I am wondering why it failed and worked for others
<abrasive> cd mail
<abrasive> oops.
