benaryorg (Discord): if you're planning on using IPFS on the public network you'd be quite sad if you managed to disable TCP entirely. As QUIC is currently experimental (hoping to be the default in the next release) most of the network is not advertising/listening on QUIC addresses.

This means that when you try and do a DHT query, download data via Bitswap, etc. you may not get the information you're looking for. While you might be able to get away with saying "I only want data from people who have QUIC", being able to contact only some of the nodes in the DHT will seriously harm performance.

I was told this seems to be a rather common problem with cheap routers and hence probably affects a rather large part of households with fewer tech-savvy residents making widespread deployment of IPFS less likely, at least in that area.
