afaerber: I never had a tv chip in my hands... but most of the SoC should be compatible, only the vpu and vdec should really differ
<narmstrong>
In the vpu code, most of the tweaks are for gxtvbb and txlx

narmstrong, I guessed so, just didn't want to duplicate work if xdarklight or you guys were already working on it. I've pulled a device tree tarball for comparison

afaerber: I still have S905W on my TODO-list, but I've nothing to do with T926E ;)

steamport|sleep: TobiasTheViking started working on a pinctrl driver for Meson6 - in addition to that a clock controller driver is missing as well as a bunch of "updates" to the existing drivers (because Amlogic changed the layout of some registers/IP blocks after Meson6)

xdarklight, did you make any progress on the UART? me no, still unusable...

afaerber: yes, I also booted Linux once on it. then I found a note in one of Amlogic's s905w .dts files stating that the GPU clock is limited to 667MHz -> didn't have time to verify this so far
<xdarklight>
apart from the capped CPU freq (1.2GHz) everything else seems identical with S905X

xdarklight, so do you actually have access to that P281 devboard? I thought you had the same Tanix TV box like me?

afaerber: no, I don't have access to the p281 board. I started by comparing Amlogic's p281.dts with p231.dts to see which differences there are - I didn't investigate differences between p281 and the TX3-mini yet (long story short: I still have to write a tx3-mini.dts)
