ndufresne: hi, I have questions about kmsink, what is the behaviour with "primary" and "overlay" plane handling ?
<narmstrong>
on expensive chips, both can render YUV, rgb and alpha
<narmstrong>
but on AML, the primary will be the only one rgb+alpha capable and the overlay YUV capable

<ndufresne>
narmstrong, kmssink is still a bit new, so it does not cover many uses cases
<ndufresne>
narmstrong, right now, by default, it will first try and find an working overlay
<ndufresne>
and deal with the color format supported by this overlay
<ndufresne>
if there is no overlay usable, or if there is no mode being set, it will then do a mode set, and try and use the primary, which will limit to RGB(a) in AML case
<lissyx>
btw, nobody knows dealer of LePotato in France or at least Europe ?
<lissyx>
only online store I found was loverpi.com
<narmstrong>
ndufresne: thanks for the precisions !
<narmstrong>
lissyx: no, only US for now, but I send you a PM ;-)
<ndufresne>
narmstrong, what I do for testing overlay, is simply that I enable the console framebuffer, this ensure here is a mode set, hence makes the overlay usable

Took a bit of time to arrive (I think 10 days ?) but otherwise nothing to report
<lissyx>
yeah, that's the only problematic point for me
<lissyx>
I don't have 10 days:)
<Ely>
narmstrong likes to throw potatoes at people during conferences, you could always try that
<lissyx>
it's going to be faster to order there and pay for fast shipment
<Ely>
haha
<lissyx>
but it would have been faster with a european reeller, that's all :)

So I'm stuck again. Maybe someone can help me out. I'm getting gpio_request failure even though I removed any mention of the pins I'm trying to access from the DTB.
<The_Coolest>
Any way to find out which module is using the pins?
<The_Coolest>
Or the reason for gpio_request failure?
<The_Coolest>
I think the previous instance of the driver doesn't release the pins.
<xdarklight>
narmstrong: lvrp16: yeah, thank you :)
<lvrp16>
lissyx: there's some tax hurdles in europe that is holding up distribution
