<johnhamming> just wonder is it possible to retrieve close-source-blob ( such as bl2.bin , bl30.img , etc. ) from bootloader.img or from emmc according to the following info. ?
<johnhamming> Load bl30 from eMMC, src: 0x00010200, des: 0x013c0000, size: 0x00007600
<johnhamming> Load bl301 from eMMC, src: 0x00018200, des: 0x01380000, size: 0x00002600
<johnhamming> Load bl33 from eMMC, src: 0x00038200, des: 0x01000000, size: 0x00080400
<johnhamming> Load bl31 from eMMC, src: 0x0001c200, des: 0x10100000, size: 0x00019600

<asdf28> is it possible to extract uboot from bootloader.img?
<asdf28> ./dev/block/bootloader contains uboot code, but it's 4.2mb in size, there's other stuff in it

<hexdump0815> johnhamming: you can extract all that nicely with gxlimg (https://github.com/repk/gxlimg) - here are my (unsorted) notes on all this: https://github.com/hexdump0815/u-boot-misc/blob/master/readme.gxl - this is for gxl, there are more for gxb and gxy (g12a and sm1) next to it

<asdf28> that's very useful
<asdf28> would that produce a file equivalent to "aml_sdc_burn.UBOOT" that's inside of firmware update files?
cmeerw has quit [Ping timeout: 264 seconds]
<hexdump0815> asdf28: i'm not sure right now what that file exactly was - but in the described way one create working u-boots to boot from sd or emmc ... for me it worked very well so far, but of course there is always also the risk to brick the box
