<xdarklight> jbrunet: are you aware of any FIFO flushing issue after playback stop with I2S? I have tested on two separate Meson8b boards (EC100 and Odroid-C1+) and after stopping playback and starting it again for the first let's say 0.25 seconds some audio from *before* stopping the playback can be heard
<xdarklight> this is independent of outputting via HDMI or I2S to a codec

<BorgCuba> Hi, I was looking for infos on how to create a bootable SD on liux-meson.com but couldnt find it. Is this not available on the wiki?
<BorgCuba> In my case for s905/gxbb

<hexdump0815> BorgCuba: you might have a look at my notes at https://github.com/hexdump0815/u-boot-misc/blob/master/readme.gxb - they are not a really clean documentations, but you can find all required information in them - here are some precompiled binaries: https://github.com/hexdump0815/u-boot-misc/releases/tag/200718-01
<hexdump0815> BorgCuba: the gxb files are the ones you want - serial if for serial console for input/output and the other one is using usb kbd and hdmi, the .dd file is to be dd'ed from the beginning of the disk - best with seek=1 and skip=1 to keep the partition table
<hexdump0815> BorgCuba: this one is tested on an mxq pro tv box ... good luck!
<BorgCuba> hexdump0815, thanks
<BorgCuba> I think I have the same device
<hexdump0815> for us-b kbd/hdmi sometimes a key needs to be pressed during boot for the kbd to be recognized properly on some boxes ... the problem might be to get the box to boot from sd card as amlogic boots first from emmc if there is a valid boot block, so you'll have to get rid of that first, which is not that easy
<hexdump0815> the easier way is to chainload a mainline u-boot.bin form the legacy one - see https://github.com/hexdump0815/imagebuilder/tree/master/boot/boot-amlogic_gx-aarch64
<hexdump0815> this is based on the so called "balbes150 multiboot" in case you want to google more about it
<hexdump0815> corresponding u-boot.bin binaries you can find for serial or usb kbd/hdmi at the above link as well

<BorgCuba> hexdump0815, I also found out that its hard to get the device to load from sd. I used an emuelec image and "reboot for upgrade" from the firmware and now it always boots from sd

<hexdump0815> BorgCuba: can you give some more details about this? i used that special hdmi dongle to force usb-boot to test it on that mxq pro box btw.
<BorgCuba> Well, I installed a rooted fw I am not sure if this is necessary.
<BorgCuba> Then on the terminal run "reboot update". The system will reboot and the meuelec image got booted from sd
<BorgCuba> But maybe this also works with the stock fw. I remember there was an option to "reboot for update"
<BorgCuba> hexdump0815, have you tried mali lima drivers?
<hexdump0815> BorgCuba: not sure if i tested lima explicitely on that box but in general it should just work with a recent kernel and mesa
<BorgCuba> hexdump0815, btw, do you have tx/rx uart pins on your board? I could only find the tx pin so far.
<hexdump0815> BorgCuba: yes i have a full serial connected with rx/tx and if i remember correctly it was obvious what was what - but the same box does not mean to be the same board :)

<xdarklight> narmstrong: hi Neil, how are you doing? when do you have some time to make up a plan with me for addressing some of the drm maintainers requests, discussing video clock setup for 32-bit SoCs and how to improve the situation for the 64-bit SoCs as well as anything else that's related to that
