<naobsd> can someone try to check download speed for following files?
<naobsd> please tell me download speed and about your internet connection (location, local bandwidth)
<naobsd> ah, free storage on last one is not enough... :(

<naobsd> I don't understand why wiki page about "root"(android thing, which is needed for protected(non-rockchip) devices) is needed...
<naobsd> sorry, above links will be removed temporary
<karlp> which one? the rooting android page I put back?
<karlp> well, I found it useful to have root on my factory firmware to try and get more information about it
<karlp> but I guess true, it doesn't have anything particularly _rockchip_ specific
<karlp> part of the reason I kept it is that most android rooting things are windows tools and warez site downloads
<karlp> it's not strictly related to _rockchip_ but it's linux on rockchip related, and it working and I found it useful, so I kept it.
<karlp> 157.7.239.60 is giving me ~100KB/sec, on fibre in iceland.
<karlp> (60-150k variably)

<karlp> http://104.156.226.99/100M.bin started well, over a meg, but is now ~200KB/sec and having connection interruptions
<karlp> oh, no, it just speed up to 10.5MB/sec :) excellent, I like that one :)
<karlp> the last one is 7MB/sec all the way throguh, fwiw.
<naobsd> how about 3rd?
<naobsd> ah, sorry
<naobsd> I found 3, thanks
<naobsd> karlp: can you ping 2nd and 3rd?
<karlp> 108.61.165.141 is 60ms from me, looks like .nl :)
<naobsd> yup
<karlp> 104.156.226.99 is 240ms or so, west coast usa?
<naobsd> 2nd is us
<naobsd> east
<karlp> 2nd and 3rd were both good speeds to me at least :)
<naobsd> I thought 3rd is best
<karlp> 3rd is fastest and most stable, yeah
<karlp> but I thought you said it didn't have enough space?
<naobsd> but 2nd is enough, I'll stop 3rd :)
<karlp> 1st is 400ms away, and had pretty crap speeds
<karlp> is that in .jp?
<naobsd> 1st is jp
<naobsd> lightspeed is not so fast :)
<naobsd> disk space on 3rd is small(at least for now)
<karlp> 1st had slow download speeds too, ping latency I can live with.
<naobsd> 400ms is too far
<karlp> I have to do internet banking in australia from iceland sometimes, that's 460ms,
<karlp> and yeah, it's shitty :)
<naobsd> increasing socket buffer may increase speed, but it's not handy for average people
<karlp> well, second and third were in the "many megs per second" speed, first was in the "maybe 200k" :)
<naobsd> no need to test 1st for people in eu :)
<karlp> :)
<naobsd> it's for people around pacific
<naobsd> if 2nd is good for us/eu, I just stop 3rd
<naobsd> anyway, I'll keep these links for test for a while...

<karlp> heh, second one gives me 25Meg/sec to my VPS in .uk, third I get 83Meg/sec
<karlp> how much are these going to cost / month?

<karlp> how much space do you reckon this will need?
<karlp> you're planning on hosting git repos of the rockchip sdks right? what else?
<naobsd> ~4GB/SDK, there are 3SDKs for now
<naobsd> dl.linux-rockchip.org may be needed e.g. docs, snapshot images, etc
<naobsd> it's not for me, for linux-rockchip

<karlp> I may have asked this before, but anyone knwo what might cause reboots in early boot? I'm guessing watchdog of some sort, but nto sure what. http://pastebay.net/1493905
<karlp> I'm trying out the marsboard 3.0.8 kernel to see if it a) works, to b) let me work out how to get ethernet on the mmind branch,
<karlp> but I've still not managed to get a 3.0.x kernel to actually boot, they all just reboot like this, either before the kernel even starts, or just after it starts like this one.
