<Tony_> Hi naobsd,
<Tony_> I create a pull request.
levd1 has joined #linux-rockchip
levd has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
<naobsd> Tony_: thanks, but CC=gcc is not portable
<naobsd> Tony_: did you try e.g. "make rkcrc" without Makefile?
<naobsd> Tony_: I'll add Makefile when it's needed, but it's not needed for now
<Tony_> naobsd, okay.
<naobsd> rkflash is useless for most people ;)
<Tony_> cool, I haven't use "make rkcrc".
<Tony_> before.
<Tony_> And, may I ask your question about rkst/mkkrnlimg ?
<Tony_> I think it is used like rkcrc ?
<Tony_> do you think so ?
<naobsd> mkkrnlimg is RK's original implementation
<naobsd> I wrote rkcrc when it was not available.
<Tony_> oh. so we should use RK's ?
<Tony_> now
<Tony_> or your rkcrc ?
<Tony_> naobsd, And what's your opinion ?
<naobsd> both can be used
<Tony_> okay, clear.
<Tony_> another things confused. your device's system is based RK or Mainline ?
<Tony_> Android OS.
<naobsd> I don't make any device...
<naobsd> and only RK 3.0 kernel can be used for Android
<naobsd> (as far as I know, now)
levd has joined #linux-rockchip
<Tony_> how about Android OS expect kernel.
<naobsd> sorry, what's "Android OS expect kernel"?
<naobsd> android version?
<naobsd> anyway
<Tony_> Yep,
levd1 has quit [Ping timeout: 255 seconds]
<naobsd> I don't make any device, I have no target product
<naobsd> if I need to use Android 4.4, I use Android 4.4
<naobsd> if I need to use mainline, I use mainline
<naobsd> etc etc
<Tony_> Dosen't you are a developer of RADXA ?
<naobsd> I'm not Radxa member
<Tony_> I thought so before.
<naobsd> I'm just individual
<Tony_> oh, my God.
<Tony_> naobsd, could we make some solution of table for other people ?
<naobsd> I have no relation to any maker/business/project include Rockchip
<naobsd> well
<naobsd> sorry, what's "some solution of table"? for example?
<naobsd> any business?
<naobsd> what I can do is helping this community
<naobsd> only
<Tony_> okay, let me explain.
<Tony_> Somebody contact me they want to make a table which is based rk3188 and has new feature.
<Tony_> and that I'm clear about your meaning. what you can do is only helping this community.
<naobsd> I have full-time job...
<Tony_> me too.

<Tony_> naobsd, I have a question about logo of kernel. very interesting.
<Tony_> there four penguin logo on my LVDS lager screen.
<naobsd> it's normal
<Tony_> And I promis that there is only one penguin on logo_linux_800x480_clut224.ppm
<Tony_> *promise
<naobsd> # of CPU
<Tony_> *logo_linux_clut224.ppm
<Tony_> # of CPU ? unbelievable

<Tony_> naobsd, thank you. I only use single CPU before. so I thought there is always one penguin.
<Tony_> before check the code. I want to say I changed a large picture which is same resolution as my large LCD.
<Tony_> then there is one picture I can see.
<Tony_> after what you said, maybe there are the other three picture shown on where I can see.
<Tony_> *after what you said, maybe there are the other three picture shown on where I can't see.

<rperier> my rootfs from usb works perfectly fine now, however I think that there is a regression in dwc2 (since next-20141121 it works fine before this tag). 80% of the time at boot I get a backtrace where dwc2 is involved and I can see "dwc2_hcd_init" in the backtrace
<rperier> I am investigating
<rperier> also I think that "dwc2 10180000.usb: irq 48, io mem 0x00000000" is not normal :)

<gb_master> hello rperier
<rperier> hello
<naobsd> oh
<gb_master> rperier: do you remember my kernel panics due to the eth driver?
<rperier> yes
<gb_master> rperier: yesterday I was able to reproduce the issue (acutally booting the system and waiting some seconds/minutes) and capturing the kernel panic
<gb_master> rperier: http://pastebin.com/adrd8jhW
<gb_master> rperier: apparently something's going wrong in arc_emac_poll
<rperier> gb_master: okay, the issue was already known ;)
<rperier> I had exactly the same kind of backtrace here (using a rootfs from nfs)
<gb_master> rperier: good, I guess
<rperier> perhaps you reproduced the issue easier than me... how did you do exactly ?
<rperier> a ssh server is started at boot... ?
<gb_master> rperier: well, I turned it on with the eth cable in
<gb_master> yes
<rperier> interesting... it would be easier for me to test with an ssh server in this case...
<gb_master> rperier: do you have any idea on what is causing that?
<rperier> it seems that the ring buffer is full
<rperier> why ... that's the question
<gb_master> mmm
<rperier> there seems to be too skb packets compared to what the kernel can really handle in its network stack, perhaps that's the "weight" and the budget given by the kernel are not correctly handled...
<rperier> I really need to fix this bug, it's boring
<gb_master> if I can help...
<gb_master> I don't if the others using the mainline kernel already noticed this, but that's totally preventing me to use the mainline kernel, as I can't have eth connection and the wifi.... well.... let's not even talk about htat
<rperier> mainline kernel for rockchip is still experimental :)
<rperier> wifi does not work ?
<gb_master> wifi does actually connect to my wifi network, but after that the other devices start disconnecting and, sooner or later, radxa disconnects itself as well
wildea01 has quit [Ping timeout: 264 seconds]
<naobsd> rperier: in arc_emac_rx(), old skb "skb = rx_buff->skb;" is not freed
<naobsd> I still don't understand whole this controller/driver, I may misunderstood something

<naobsd> why error is counted on "cannot allocate skb for next"
<naobsd> and old skb is not handled
<Frost_> hi, naobsd! whats up with git.jp.linux-rockchip.org ?
<Frost_> how to git clone tablet SDK ?
<naobsd> Frost_: I think it works fine
<naobsd> Frost_: not ready yet
<naobsd> Frost_: sorry, who are you? why you know it?
<Frost_> I have radxa board, and always read talk.radxa.com
<naobsd> Frost_: I don't talk anything about it because it's not finished yet

<naobsd> rx_buff->skb shouldn't be replaced until new skb is surely prepared (include dma thing). if new skb cannot be prepared, old skb should be kept and returned ownership to emac
hramrach_ has quit [Ping timeout: 250 seconds]
<naobsd> and if skb allocation/dma mapping are failed, host side has problem, it should be "break" not "continue".
antoinemaillard has joined #linux-rockchip
hramrach_ has joined #linux-rockchip
<rperier> naobsd: I did not analyze as you do right now, but yeah there are bad things/practices, I agree
<naobsd> rperier: (no relation to bug) I wonder why last_rx_bd is always treated as pointer...
<rperier> (note that I did not touch to emac_main.c I just created emac_rockchip on it)
<rperier> (I mean, I just refactorized it nothing more, the code was already there)
<naobsd> I know that was written by synopsis ;)
<rperier> that's completly useless to treat it as a pointer... I mean... that's just an index...
<naobsd> there were some strange bugs, quality is not good ;)
<rperier> what I can do is once I found the issue in dwc2 , I might work on arc and drm-rockchip in //
mrcan_ has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<rperier> (at least I could start to investigate problems and refactorize a bit)
<rperier> btw, feel free to send your patch about default-trigger in leds-gpio, just say that it's depends on my patch (sent to the ML)
<naobsd> you're working very nicely, I'm not ;)
<naobsd> yes
<rperier> you're working very nicely too... most of the things done on upgrade_tools and userspace rk tools are done by you no ?
<naobsd> everything is dirty ;)
<naobsd> ah, upgrade_tool is RK's tool
<naobsd> dirty -> incomplete
<naobsd> hmm
<naobsd> let's return to home...

<rperier> gb_master: if you want to investigate some stuffs in drivers/net/ethernet/arc, feel free to do it. You could try to find an "execution path" to reproduce the issue (write it on the wiki in this case), and for example try to understand what is happening in emac_main.c

<amstan> mmind00: hey, i heard you want patches from me
<mmind00> amstan: haha ... just trying to judge if the clock phase stuff might make it for 3.19
<amstan> mmind00: give me 10 minutes, i'll send it to gerrit
<mmind00> amstan: I'm only interested in the clk-components at this time, as I'll do a final pull req to Mike in the next days not sure if I should wait for the mmc-phases
<amstan> ok
<amstan> mmind00: https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/#/c/226132/22..23/drivers/clk/rockchip/clk-mmc-phase.c
<amstan> mmind00: so we changed it to 22.5 options
<amstan> it works better, somehow
<amstan> you can read doug's comments on the ML for more details why
<amstan> if you're ok with that I can send it

<mmind00> amstan: one minor style issue, otherwise the look ok
<amstan> mmind00: so do you think this so good to send over(once i do what you suggested) and have it in 3.19?
<amstan> even though nothing else uses it yet?
<mmind00> amstan: yep ... it prevents a lot of hassle, as we don't need to share the clock ids between trees
