<willmore> buZz, what are you saying about mono amps? Are you talking about bi-amping?
msimpson has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
<buZz> no mono input played over two amplified speakers
<buZz> s/o m/o, m/
RichardG867 has quit [Ping timeout: 248 seconds]
<willmore> Okay, I see what you're talking about. Using mono for banks of speakers requires some attention to detail or you'll get a hot spot where the wafeforms reinforce and cold spots where they interfere.
RichardG867 has joined #linux-sunxi
<willmore> And, yeah, it can be 3db louder where they reinforce. Sadly, it can also be very quiet where they don't. But real speakers aren't anywhere near ideal, so it never gets that bad.

<oliv3r> i need a nother a33 device!
<oliv3r> Net147: i see you have rebased your sun7i drm branch on wens's stuff; but i also see a lot of [DO NOT MERGE] what is the status of your patches regarding to sun7i? And i see your working on fixes with regards to video clocking?
<oliv3r> Net147: can you elaborate a little on that?
<oliv3r> and i thought pleas's ccu patches where merged, but they are not in 4.14-rc3/your tree (or i overlooked them which is quite possible)
<Net147> oliv3r: the CCU patches are already in there. my branch is based on wen's a31-hdmi-v4 branch.
<Net147> oliv3r: do not merge means I don't intend for the commit to be included into mainline
paintenzero has joined #linux-sunxi
<Net147> oliv3r: the clocking changes are hacks really to get timing stable on both LCD and HDMI
matthias_bgg has joined #linux-sunxi
<Net147> oliv3r: I am not working on the branch at the moment. maybe plaes will pick up the branch at some point. you're welcome to help.
<mripard> most of them can be merged
<mripard> and they should be sent at some point too

<Pe3ucTop> Any one know is there to force FEL boot on V3s chip (except shorting to ground SPI/SDIO data pins)? may be LRADC some level or ??
<KotCzarny> does it have sdcard slot?
<KotCzarny> if yes, then fel-sdio image
<KotCzarny> fel-sdcard i mean
leviathanch has joined #linux-sunxi
<Pe3ucTop> KotCzarny: in condition when no SDIO slot...
<KotCzarny> not sdio but sdcard
<KotCzarny> i made a typo
<Pe3ucTop> no any of them, boot from SPI ...
<KotCzarny> then flash fel image onto spi?
<KotCzarny> you can later replace it by proper uboot
reinforce has quit [Quit: Leaving.]
<Pe3ucTop> KotCzarny: thanks, good idea, will check do u-boot SPL have option to enter FEL ...
<KotCzarny> or just nuke spi, and it probably would fallback to fel mode anyway
<Pe3ucTop> KotCzarny: currently do that, nuke spi :) looking for corect way.
<KotCzarny> it is, because end result is the same
<KotCzarny> unless you plan to do some complicated select-boot-os configuration

<Net147> oliv3r: yes, perhaps by using clock rate protection mechanism

<wens> oliv3r: it's a work in progress
<MoeIcenowy> mripard: the SS bonding ID of A33 and R16 seems to be different
<MoeIcenowy> which is used by AW boot0 to prevent a R16 boot0 to run on A33
<mripard> ok
<oliv3r> Net147: yeah i'm missing that one
<oliv3r> i had all those before; but i'm re-starting ontop of 4.14 to see what i'm missing from all those patch series that are floating around and are (not)merged
<oliv3r> wens: ah i thought pleas had finished it more or less
<wens> oliv3r: clk sharing and protection isn't
<oliv3r> Net147: ah and I missed it because i only went back as far as your rebase ontop of wens's latest work
<oliv3r> wens: well i meant the convert to CCU patch; i thought it was part of pleas's initial series
<wens> it is already done
<oliv3r> wens: i know, but i'm somehow missing "ARM: dts: sun7i: Convert to CCU"
<oliv3r> or rather, it's not in 4.14-rc3

<oliv3r> ok, i'll make it happen one of these days then :)
<oliv3r> plaes: ok i'm missing ARM: sun7i: Convert to CCU in 4.14-rc4
<oliv3r> and anything beyond that
<oliv3r> so maybe those went into maxime's tree or somewhere, but i don't have those
<plaes> oliv3r: it seems that something was squashed
<plaes> although, I'm not 100% sure
<plaes> because cannot test it atm...
<oliv3r> well squashed or not, i'm missing the content :)
<wens> oliv3r: it's in -next, not 4.14-rc
cnxsoft has quit [Quit: cnxsoft]
<oliv3r> ah ok so everything is in -next? or just these last missing ones
<oliv3r> so only the conversion didn't make it in
<oliv3r> ok that's okay
<oliv3r> i'll pick those few patches up then
<oliv3r> it's still confusing :D
<wens> sunxi patches that we take will be in the kernel.org sunxi repository
<wens> the linux-sunxi github repository is not the official one
<wens> sunxi-next only serves as a integration branch, much like linux-next without all the irrelevant stuff
<wens> all branches in kernel.org/sunxi are based on -rc1
<wens> so it's easy to spot if something is already in linus' tree or just merged for the next release
