<karlp> well crap. turns out buildroot's "make" waswn't rebuilding the kernel when it changed, so my saved configs were saved when it was wrong :) gained wifi, lost gadget

<tomeu> montjoie: I'm having trouble getting the eth probed in u-boot on a h64
<tomeu> is that supposed to be working?
BenG83 has quit [Ping timeout: 246 seconds]
<tomeu> only the hubs are found when probing the buses: http://paste.debian.net/1110518/

<tomeu> just tried with a moschip dongle on one of the USB 2.0 ports, and it works fine
* tomeu starts to wonder if the ethernet port isn't a usb device in the h64
<montjoie> tomeu: you mean an "USB ethernet dongle" ?
<tomeu> montjoie: yeah
<montjoie> try all ports
<tomeu> I blindly assumed that the oboard eth was a usb device
<tomeu> the dongle works fine
<montjoie> tomeu: no the erthernet GMAC is real device
<tomeu> montjoie: guess there isn't support for it in u-boot yet?

<megi> ethernet yes, axp803 used to power the phy, no
<tomeu> megi: I'm right now considering the safety implications of http://paste.debian.net/1110537/
<tomeu> that should power on the ALDO2 that powers the PHY
<tomeu> (if I have read the datasheets correctly)
<megi> I think there are two regulators connected together, so you should ensure both are enabled
<megi> the second is CLDO something
<megi> don't remember the exact number
<megi> what do you think would be unsafe?
<megi> you should probably put the code to the ethernet driver though, or at least to the board init file
<mru> such things belong in the board file
<megi> yeah
<mru> another board using the same eth/phy can have it powered very differently
<tomeu> ALDO2 produces VCC3V3-MAC and CLDO1 produces VCC2V5-MAC, but cldo1 is powered on by default
<megi> I mean there is direct connection between ALDO2 and some other regulator
airwind has quit [Quit: airwind]
<megi> ah no, that's ALDO3+CLDO1

<yann> for cedrus, do I read it right that kernel libc headers must be exported after selecting a specific set of options ? looks like the notion seems to contradict conventions ?

* smaeul raises hand
<smaeul> montjoie: megi: I posted a u-boot patch for the necessary driver changes a couple of weeks ago
<smaeul> megi: tomeu: this patch series adds AXP805 support to ATF, which will turn on the regulators for you https://review.trustedfirmware.org/c/TF-A/trusted-firmware-a/+/2324
<karlp> well. I just get hci0: command 0x0c03 tx timeout in dmesg, and using brcm_patchram plus, I get timeouts sending 01 03 0c, so I can only presume that the bt module is.... not alive.
<karlp> gone over the pinouts and compared schematics from upstreamed modules and mine again and again.
