<mr_rcollins> Hmmm, Debian on CHIP doesn't seem to have drivers for FTDI usb serial
<karlp> ok. buildroot gave me a console. progress I guess :)
<mr_rcollins> The serial port shows up fine on a Pi...

<MoeIcenowy> yann: for libgbm, you need to use gbm variant of libMali
<MoeIcenowy> or usually wayland variant is also capable of gbm (because it's needed to run wayland compositor)

<rellla> yann: use the libs, chewitt linked. you need the corresponding kernel driver, too. take the r7p0 variant and use it with r9p0-multiplatform kernel driver. works here.
<rellla> though you also may build the libgbm wrapper to use the newer functions, which are not included in libmali
<yann> oh I had missed chewitt's answer - thanks!
<rellla> yeah, and build it like libreelec does...

<LordDoskias> why doesn't the sunxi gpio driver expose pull up/pull down resistor configuration via sysfs
<LordDoskias> in the legacy gpio interface /sys/class/gpio ?

<plaes> LordDoskias: gpio sysfs interface is deprecated since 4.8
<LordDoskias> indeed but that doesn't mean it's not working
<LordDoskias> OTOH does it mean if i use libgpiod i can set the pull up/down characteristics of a pin and it will work?
kaspter has quit [Ping timeout: 268 seconds]
<plaes> I hope :P
<plaes> so far I have only used sysfs :(
<LordDoskias> actually searching for PULL in gpiod.h there is nothing so i assume it cannot be done
<LordDoskias> it can be done via the DT with the respective properties of a pin but i'd like to do it runtime
<LordDoskias> seems that's not possible atm ;(
<mru> unless it changed recently, the kernel doesn't have a userspace api to do taht
kaspter has joined #linux-sunxi
aalm has joined #linux-sunxi
<LordDoskias> so gpiod doesn' support pull up down
<LordDoskias> mru, the only user space api is if this was exposed through the sysfs file
<mru> the api libgpiod uses ought to have that functionality but it doesn't
<mru> so libgpiod can't do it either
<plaes> so yes, might be "soon" :D
<LordDoskias> but how come the old interface supported that?
<mru> which old interface?
<LordDoskias> sysfs
<mru> uh, it doesn't
<plaes> it didn't, you could only specify active-low, active-high
<LordDoskias> on RPI there was a file
<mru> at least not all drivers
<plaes> ah.. RPI has custom driver
<LordDoskias> that i'd echo 1 to the pull-up file
<LordDoskias> ah right...
kaspter has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
<LordDoskias> alternatively i'd have to map the source code to the debugfs entries perhahps there might be one

<martinayotte> alternatively, you could use "devmem" to actually control pinctrl pullup/pulldown registers.
<yann> chewitt: problem is, that gbm version is gbm-only. I am looking for an X11 version that has GBM support, after seeing that eg. the midgard aarch64 version has that, as glmark2 fails to configure in any configuration when it fails to find gbm
