<diizzy> Hi, I'm not sure if this is right place to ask but are there any plans to upstream cpufreq support (update dts) for orange pi one plus (H6)?
luke-jr has joined #linux-sunxi
<montjoie> diizzy: this is the right place
<diizzy> for whatever reason one plus seems to use different templates than most other h6 devices
<diizzy> ..and I'm not very familiar with dts syntax
<diizzy> the only obvious changes I can tell are the following: https://pastebin.ubuntu.com/p/X9Z6dSJgwH/
<diizzy> looking at kernel master branch
<diizzy> However it would nice to get some kind of confirmation as I have close no idea what I'm doing heh
<montjoie> diizzy: if you dont have comment here, try the mailing list, you can send the patch as RFC/RFT
<diizzy> sure, I'm not in a rush

<megi> diizzy: you're going about it quite right
<megi> boards at this point can just include that dtsi, and configure the cpu regulator, as you suggested, and it should work
<jernej> note that you should add cpu node in the parent dtsi file (sun50i-h6-orangepi.dtsi)
<jernej> that file is shared between One Plus and Lite 2 board because they are very similar and have a lot in common
<jernej> and CPU power supply is same on both

<diizzy> megi: thanks, lets see if this will crash and burn
<willmore> Burning is actually an option if you crank up the voltage too high.
<willmore> Just saying.
<megi> should not happen, unless you also change the OPP table, though
<megi> make sure you have a thermal driver properly enabled and working though
<megi> don't try to load it unless you're sure thermal regulation works ;)
<willmore> Oh, I thought that was the thing they were editing in the dts.
