<hypermodern>
is it possible to connect to the milkymist via ssh?
<hypermodern>
So I could write patches remotely?
<kristianpaul>
not quite
<kristianpaul>
you could do telnet, afaik i dont think there is proper command line editor in rtems/flickernoise..
voidcoder has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
<hypermodern>
Ok thank you kristianpaul
<hypermodern>
I am thinking of a use case where the box is permanently mounted near a projector with a single cat 5 cable that can be hidden in the wall and then connected to the router programing it from the laptop
<kristianpaul>
hmm

<wpwrak>
if you just need a small set of functions, it shouldn't be too difficult to add the corresponding commands
<wpwrak>
plus, you could just set up all the files (including config files) and then enter performance mode

<Fallenou>
hypermodern: you can edit via NFS
<hypermodern>
Thanks Fallenou, and wpwrak
<hypermodern>
Fallenou have you successfully used NFS?
<hypermodern>
What version?
<hypermodern>
v4?
<Fallenou>
I used NFS on the M1, right
<Fallenou>
hum didn't remember NFS version
<Fallenou>
I was using a debian squeeze as NFS server
<Fallenou>
so it was compatible with latest debian :)
<hypermodern>
So inside your computer Fallenou did you see the flicker noise gui or just have command line access?

<Fallenou>
hypermodern: inside my remote computer I just edited patches using vim
<Fallenou>
and the folder containing those patches was accessed by he M1 over NFS
<hypermodern>
Ah! got it
<hypermodern>
Thank you for explaining Fallenou. I'm going to be learning how to use the MM1 this weekend
<hypermodern>
I'm looking forward to it

actually i'm quite amazed milkymist still offers no web interface to flickerface, but goes to all lengths to port a gui...
