<houkime> and for sure introduce routing challenges. Was trying different ways.
<houkime> Two main concerns - crosstalk between different highspeed signals.
<houkime> And the fact that less distance between connectors means less flexibility between them.
<houkime> so manufacturing defects will create more warpage if you try to connect the simultaneously into the Lower
<houkime> *connect them
<houkime> initial distance was already risky in this regard. You don't generally want to place connectors like this. if they are to be plugged into the same board.
<houkime> bob extention is kind of a better option if possible. will check possibility tomorrow. (Yeah, moving kind of slow, I know. Far too many things to consider here, don't wanna be a fool)

<houkime> if we can mill out this little edge here then we could extend for around 2 mm
<houkime> doesn't seem like it has other purpose than to fix bob

<houkime> although then the widow for hb should also be widened. Hmmm
<houkime> You kinda need to modify that area for hb anyway though.

<houkime> Without modifying bobdimensions: 4 layers, tented vias under connectors, pin remapping, slight Y-movement of hb, and this will be a challenge.
<enyc> houkime: oOOOOooOo it sounds like a wonderful 3-dimensional-tetris
<houkime> it also may produce tension between connectors when plugged if you just cram the together.
<houkime> so, 2 variants: don't extend Bob and cram -> unknown problems may arise
<houkime> extend bob -> milling needed.
<houkime> with around 1.5 mm bob extension 2 connectors will not be necessarily crammed, the just move closer to hb.

<houkime> placed bob-LOWER connectors after cramming stuff on BOB

<houkime> Barely managed not to collide with usb, baarely. And I need to place esd there somewhere.
<houkime> somewhere....
preview has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
<houkime> emmm... not sure it is possible. The thing is, you need to provide a lower resistance towards diode to make esd go preferrably there, but the thing is that due to the cramming you can only place diodes somewhere on the periphery, which automatically make traces to diodes quite long, and other traces - quite short.
<houkime> Ideally you need to plop them between connectors so signals have a short low-impedance path to esd, but I literally don't have extra 1.xx mm needed for this
<houkime> It would be probably placed/routed ok with the initial connector placement, but initial connector placement collides with usb, and needs 3 mm adjustment, which makes _working_ esd protection next to impossible.
<houkime> need to think about this. Should be some way. Most probaly milling case a little is a must.
