does panfrost do gles1?

<HdkR>
Theoretically it should hit some level of ES 1 support from mesa
<flacks>
so it's safe to leave enabled for mesa?
icecream95 has quit [Ping timeout: 268 seconds]
<HdkR>
Should be fine, ES 1.1 is simple enough that it is probably fine :P
<flacks>
sorry if I ask silly questions, I'm *very* new (practically newborn) when it comes to graphics
<flacks>
but ok, I'll leave it enabled and see what happens :)
<HdkR>
Not like many things use ES 1.1 anyway
<flacks>
mm
<flacks>
well, since we can put that aside now, I'm trying to hunt down a regression with panfrost/T860 - mesa-git as of somewhere in the last 100 commits off master (lol) causes picom (X compositor) to crash
<flacks>
s/-git//
<flacks>
actually nvm, a lot less than that

daniels: latest mesa indeed working on rk3288, thanks a lot!!
<daniels>
jschwart: great news, enjoy it :)
<jschwart>
I will :)
<jschwart>
do you happen to know anything about the VPU as well?
<daniels>
flacks, HdkR: have reported the broken commit, should be reverted by tomorrow
<daniels>
jschwart: it should just work with V4L2, and there's work in progress for the post-processor hardware for colourspace conversions and scaling
<flacks>
daniels, great, thanks!
<daniels>
np
<jschwart>
daniels: what is the v4l2 interface for is that not for attaching a camera?
<daniels>
V4L2 also does media encode & decode as well as transformations
<daniels>
it's supported by all the main users like GStreamer, Kodi, etc
