alyssa changed the topic of #panfrost to: Panfrost - FLOSS Mali Midgard & Bifrost - Logs https://freenode.irclog.whitequark.org/panfrost - <daniels> avoiding X is a huge feature

<icecream95> alyssa: I bisected the performance regression for pulsar to 348d374d013
<icecream95> If I disable resource_create_with_modifiers and set handle->modifier to DRM_FORMAT_MOD_INVALID in panfrost_resource_get_handle again, performance is restored

<robmur01> yup, most page faults will likely be permission faults from copy-on-write
<robmur01> from software doing such heinous things as... allocating memory
<HdkR> Nefarious indeed

<marcodiego> I'm planning to compile mesa3d on my rockpi4 and want a good balance between stability and newer features/support. What is more recommended 2.0.8 or 20.1.5?

<marcodiego> I compiled and installed mesa 2.1.5 on armbian buster. When I run "LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib:/usr/local/lib/aarch64-linux-gnu glmark2-es2-drm" on a console I get the line "GL_RENDERER: Mali T860 (Panfrost)" but when I run "LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib:/usr/local/lib/aarch64-linux-gnu glmark2" on my desktop environment I get "GL_RENDERER: llvmpipe (LLVM 7.0, 128 bits)". Why?
<marcodiego> found a workaround! sudo LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib:/usr/local/lib/aarch64-linux-gnu Xorg :2 vt9

<Lyude> alyssa: did you get access to a g77?
<HdkR> G77 you say? :P
<Lyude> HdkR: just saw you two talking about it earlier
<HdkR> Lyude: DHL claims the Dimensity 1000 Android device will be here on Thursday. Good for RE, not really good for bringing upstream or w/e
<Lyude> Ah
<HdkR> I'll have to install the Android NDK for the first time in three years :P
