Im building mesa in the "Ubuntu package" way but find I am getting some artifacts which does not happen with a minimal compile / install (appears some old cached content which flickers on the screen eg mouse pointer trails) any ideas if any of these build options may impact panfrost? - https://pastebin.com/ebhGF4tc

yes that's right (+ it helps to support Xorg non accellerated)

mostly using wayland accellerated tho

I built mesa master other day on LFS got acellerated X with glamour

I think that gallium uses llvm somehow with mesa and pfrost but im not sure

my xfce beta ran good didnt crash wasnt super fast ofc

but I cant get kde wayland to run yet

think it needs qt5 bult with this mesa

kde will run for me (and actually perfrom quiet well) but too many artifacts with the qt5 components (also see this in gnome - ie qt5 articacts in some cases)

right qt5 will only be as good as mesa-panfrost is atm

I think for the qt5 stuff will need to update my packages for a test

I think with mesa-git from today and patched kernel you have good qt5 chance anything older than last few days qt wont be different

atm kernel 5.9.6+ some panfrost patches, mesa master is building again atm, Ubuntu groovy using qt 5.14.2

Im going to scale back on the Ubuntu mesa build options and see if I can sort my artifacts in gnome firstly then will try to see if I can sort out some of the qt5 issues

sounds good my tobetter gnome on malik_base is nice so im not too rushed

look at blfs mesa config worked good for me quite basic but builds what ya need

yes I actually had it working fine with mimimal & manual compile / install on focal and groovy, now just trying now to package it up into deb's for ubuntu to meet all the package dependencies

I should run qt5 through my manjaro builder w/ryzen 1600

In the end I hope to make ubuntu switchable between panfrost / mali_kbase for comparisons by install of mali-bifrost-dkms package which would install kbase module and blacklist panfrost. kbase *should* work on mesa 23.0 I hope
