<DanC__> so the little bell in oasis tells me a new version of Rocket.Chat is available... but I can't tell how it's different from what I have already
<DanC__> the app store displays
<DanC__> Version:0.28.0
<DanC__> my installation says Version
<DanC__> 0.19.0
<asheesh> Well there you go! : D
<asheesh> Honestly I'm not sure what the question is.
<asheesh> Is the question, "What changed in Rocket.Chat between those two versions?"
<DanC__> yes
<asheesh> Ah hah, okay.
<asheesh> So (a) secretly Sandstorm apps include a changelog but we don't show that anywhere
<asheesh> Great! I was digging around for that.
<DanC__> the marketing department has not been invited to contribute. all changes are given equal billing
<DanC__> "Improve last commit" <- hey, I definitely want to upgrade to get that!
<DanC__> "Add Off-The-Record funtionallity" <- stuff like that is a bit more significant in this context
<Mitar> not really, it is just a beta implementation of OTR
<Mitar> I helped with
<Mitar> I would advise against using it at the moment for anything serious
<DanC__> meanwhile, what's the risk that upgrading is going to screw up existing grains?
<DanC__> they could fail to be backward compatible with database handling or something, no?
<DanC__> the app market page has a big INSTALL button even though I already installed it. hm.
<DanC__> I installed it, but the administration page still says Version 0.19.0; do upgrades not apply to existing grains?
<DanC__> I made a new grain; it bears version 0.28
<asheesh> Existing grains _should_ get updated through the notification.
<DanC__> ah; I didn't use that.
<asheesh> If you didn't use the notification, you should see a "Upgrade existing grains" button on the "app details page" that lists your grains.
<asheesh> (or something similar to that UI element)
<asheesh> lists your grains for this app
<DanC__> I don't see such an Upgrade grains button
<asheesh> Interesting. I wonder if that's a bug, then.
<asheesh> I need to fall asleep but can debug in the morning.
<DanC__> which part of the page?
<DanC__> maybe I'm just blind
<asheesh> I think it should appear near "Search"
<asheesh> Let me grep source
<DanC__> ok... after using the bell notification upgrade deely, my old grain bears version 0.28.0
<asheesh> Theoretically above search
<asheesh> Bah now you can't help us debug the {{#if hasOlderVersion}}
<asheesh> Oh well (-:
<asheesh> Glad the bell worked.
<DanC__> maybe it's not there because used the bell
<asheesh> Well, sweet dreams for now! (-:
<DanC__> hasta
<DanC__> Sandstorm for Work looks really cool... LDAP integration could make sandstorm more palatable to our IT folks than Docker or VMs... but I wonder how the pricing works. Our LDAP directory has some 7000 people in it. (kumc.edu)

<DanC__> there are more like 10 or 20 people who would likely need access...
<DanC__> "The Android app for OwnTracks is not yet compatible with this Sandstorm app, but that will hopefully change soon." darn; that looks like a particularly interesting use-case for sandstorm
<DanC__> though I still wonder about encrypted storage
<Mitar> does sending e-mails from meteor app packaged inside sandstorm automatically work?

<Mitar> aaa, meeting :-)
<Mitar> asheesh: ok, but how do I send it from inside out?
<Mitar> is there a way to "exec" into shell inside a running grain?
<Mitar> so that I could just write code on the fly and try to get all this capnproto rpc to work?

<asheesh> Hey Mitar re: getting a shell into a grain: https://github.com/sandstorm-io/vagrant-spk/issues/56 shows a hacky way.
<asheesh> I'm going to be researching today how useful that is in practice.
<Mitar> yes, please
<Mitar> because otherwise it is really hard to debug :-)
<asheesh> I've done it personally (with the nsenter command) and it's semi-useful as-is. So feel free to experiment with me in parallel, if you like, or wait for something mroe well-documented. (-:

<BigShip> Okay, just noticed rocket chat updated. Is it possible to log in via the android app now?
<dwrensha> BigShip: not yet
<dwrensha> jparyani is working on it
<BigShip> Squee okay
<BigShip> I honestly don't even have a use for it yet, it's just exciting :)
<Mitar> asheesh: is this a normal style-check ourput?
<Mitar> it says it is a failure, but it does not say where?
<dwrensha> Mitar: what version of jscs are you using?
<Mitar> whatever npm -g install jscs gave me ;-)
<dwrensha> that is not what a usual failure looks like
<dwrensha> `jscs --version`
<Mitar> which is 3.0.3
<dwrensha> ah, maybe 3.0 broke things for us
<dwrensha> and you're the first to notice
<dwrensha> I've got 2.10.1
<Mitar> yes, with 2.11.0 it works
<dwrensha> Mitar: does it work if you remove the esnext and verbose options from shell/.jscsrc ?
