<crab> i wish there were a newer version of wordpress available on sandstorm
<crab> is that something that's ever likely to happen?
<crab> ok. so https://github.com/dwrensha/WordPress/tree/sandstorm-app is wordpress-old plus some patches.
<crab> presumably the latest wordpress needs to be merged in
<JonTheNiceGuy> I'm pretty sure that's the case.
<crab> is dwrensha still around?
<crab> as in, suppose i do the work of making the patches apply to the latest wordpress, is there any chance he might help publish a new version?
<JonTheNiceGuy> Dunno. Probably best to ask him via email, or email the sandstorm ml about the best way to take it over.
<JonTheNiceGuy> Also, take a look at http://sandsheep.com/bb as there are bounties for certain packaging and patching activities.
<crab> sandsheep!
<crab> sandstorm is so slow for me that it's painful
<crab> has anyone tried to run it on localhost but publish the static content to somewhere else?

<xet7> crab: runs on localhost in dev mode, but for using SSL etc you need ports 80 and 443 open. Speed depends on hardware also, SSD is faster than normal harddisk.

<xet7> crab: Also for Wekan dwrensha does do releases anymore, currently me and ocdtrekkie does that. So I would guess it's same for WordPress, somebody else could take over.
<xet7> crab: For WordPress, it would be nice to get static website urls cleaned up, so there would be no index.php in urls. Also this bug prevents downloading bigger grains, like my 400MB WordPress grain: https://github.com/sandstorm-io/sandstorm/issues/2726
<xet7> crab: And also it would be nice for import export of WP sites to work :)
<xet7> crab: so somebody working on WordPress would be very much appreciated :)

<afuentes> Mmmm, my grains have disappeared... I did nothing to that server (aka no touching and no updating)
<afuentes> grains are still under /opt/sandstorm/var/sandstorm/grains/
<afuentes> Any idea of what might had happened?
<afuentes> Actually, a single grain is showing, but I had 10 or so
<afuentes> Actually 14 under the folder
<afuentes> I cant find anything in sandstorm.log
<afuentes> Theres been an update today in update.log (that was not showing on the update page in sandstorm)
<afuentes> 215.tar
<afuentes> well, it shows in the update page afterall. I thought it didnt because date was 30-9 and the one in the logs was 1-10 (today for me)
<afuentes> Well, I guess I had the grains linked to another account :S
<afuentes> I hadnt touched anything in a very long time, I guess the accounts arent linked now or whatever

<JonTheNiceGuy> Actually, the accounts all coalesced a few weeks back. As long as they were all together, they should work!
<afuentes> Well, whatever happened, it happened to me today :(
<afuentes> I had to join as an admin to get them back

<kentonv> afuentes, I'm guessing this update landed on your server? https://sandstorm.io/news/2017-05-08-refactoring-identities
<kentonv> we had one other person report a weird situation where all his grains "disappeared", but it turned out they were all owed by an account other than the one he was signing in as
<kentonv> what I haven't been able to figure out is why that other account was able to see the grains *before* the change
<TimMc> :-X
<kentonv> in that guy's case it was on oasis so I was able to poke at the database and it really looked like all the grains had been owned by a different account all along
<kentonv> in the other case, it looked like the guy had originally created an account with Google, then added an e-mail identity to the account, then *removed* the google account, then created another account under Google where I guess he found he could see his grains, but then after the migration he couldn't anymore
<kentonv> afuentes, does that sound like a sequence of events you might have gone through?
<kentonv> (that is, he unlinked his google identity, then tried to log in with Google again which created an all-new identity for him)
<kentonv> (all-new account, rather)
<TimMc> interesting

<afuentes> kentonv I have always logged via email. The account I was supposedly logged in as, was a gmail, but still email login. I had 3 accounts as admin, I did a clean up of accounts. I have been logged with this account for longer than a year, I believe. So its kind of hard to remember the sequence :S
