<whitequark>
wpwrak: I'm not especially happy with your solution
<whitequark>
it's a palliative at best
<wpwrak>
yes, the under-reporting goes further than what i'm fixing there. but that's as far as i dare to venture into the innards of solvespace at this point :)
<wpwrak>
also, i guess you'll rearrange some of the organization of the main data structures as you progress towards #80, so it's probably better if i stay close to the surface of things
<wpwrak>
by the way, i see that rotated extrusions have three DOF. what are there ? i tried to pull and twist a little, but nothing seems to want to move. also, Analyze doesn't have any help to offer.
<wpwrak>
s/there/they/
<whitequark>
really? I just extruded a thing then rotated it and I get 1 DOF
<wpwrak>
hmm. i did this: circle somewhere, draw vertical construction line through the origin, lathe. voila, 3 DOF
<wpwrak>
or does it inherit DOF from the sketch ?
<whitequark>
what?
<whitequark>
how is that a "rotated extrusion"?
<whitequark>
so just a lathe group has 3 DOF
<whitequark>
no idea why
<wpwrak>
ah, terminolgy :) i used "rotation" from what the hover text says, "new group rotating active sketch"
<whitequark>
there's also "step and repeat rotating"
<wpwrak>
(no idea) bug ?
<whitequark>
yeah file it
<wpwrak>
(step + rotate) ah yes. haven't used that one yet.
<wpwrak>
step and translate is pretty cool, though

btw, now that i have a suspicion as to what caused the DISPLAY_TEXTWND windows to fail to appear, i had about a while week without a single incident. before, chances were about 50/50 for each start of solvespace. i think metaphysics aren't getting all the credit they deserve ;-)
<wpwrak>
and i had one case where it did indeed fail to appear. but i found it safe and sound on a different virtual screen.
