Jiangyi: around? :-D
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: About to go to sleep. I guess I can stick around for a little longer. :P
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: 6:22 am here :-D
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: still on cm with the libs from drive?
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: 0:22am here. You're up really early haha
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: yep.
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: uploaded camera.omap4.so
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: push and reboot.
<codeworkx>
now i'm curious
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: push to the same location or?
<doldrim>
hey, im on an old GB i9000 rom/bootloader from a year ago, that i put on my (originally) i897 captivate. now i want to load AOKP which says I should first flash hacksung - now, usually people say to go to stock GB first before a rom flash, so do i need to go back to stock GB? and all the stock GB i see now are i897, will this brick me to go back?
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: /system/lib/hw
<Jiangyi>
k.
<codeworkx>
doldrim: no
<codeworkx>
doldrim: just flash latest cm nightly from cwm
<doldrim>
i remember there used to be tricky odin3/odin1 bricks, so i was a bit scared :)... i've got CWM 2.5 loaded still.. do i need to update that first?
<bbqbot>
derp
<codeworkx>
doldrim: we're normally flashing hardcore kernel, which is also mentioned on the cm wiki
<codeworkx>
doldrim: put cm + gapps onto sdcard, flash mtcarey's Kernel with the ClockworkMod Recovery 5
<codeworkx>
doldrim: do it
<doldrim>
this is the wiki i've always wanted :D
<doldrim>
thanks man
<Jiangyi>

<codeworkx>

<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: /system/lib
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: New logs up.
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: oh i'm dumb
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: pushed the wrong libs
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: It's OK, you're still smarter than me :-D
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: camera.omap4.so to /system/lib/hw
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: uploaded a new one
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: IT'S ALIVE!!!! :-D
<codeworkx>
:-D
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: ..... And now it stopped.
<Jiangyi>
:(
<codeworkx>
hehe
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: New logs are up. Don't know why it worked for a second, and then stopped. :-(
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: Also, for the short moment that it worked, the image was shown 90 degrees counterclockwise of it's supposed to be.
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: it's the camera hal from galaxytab2
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: found another wifi driver
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: this is what we should try :-D
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: That explains some things.
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: I'll be back in 5 minutes.
<doldrim>
is the goal of hacksung to have a clean AOSP build for every samsung?
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: I'm back.
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: Anything else you need me to do?
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: doing a new build
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: Alright. :-D
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: How long do you think it'll take? I think I'm going to have to sleep soon......
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: 25 mins
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: Alright, I'll try my best to stay up. :-P
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: check if there's /dev/ion and what permissions are set
<Jiangyi>
I see the dev folder, but no ion subfolder.
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: I'm using Root Explorer btw.
<codeworkx>
no /dev/ion?
<codeworkx>
strange
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: if we'll get sources for i9100g, i expect fast success :-D
raymonddull has joined #teamhacksung-support

codeworkx: Are the source codes for firmwares in different regions very different?
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: something seems to be wrong with the GT-P3100 sources. the 3110 sources are slightly different. and i've heard that the 3100 sources aren't properly working on 3100 :-D
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: let's see what happens with the P3110 wifi drivers
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: Well then. That might explain our problems. :-P
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: Does Samsung seriously mess up this often?
<bbqbot>
derp
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: as often as possible :-D
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: OK, I'm going to think twice before buying Samsung next time... Unless it's a Google phone. :P
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: i'm happy with my samsung phone. galaxy nexus :-D
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: I would've gotten that had my father not gotten this on his trip to China. :P
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: This honestly came in a box that said it was the Non-G variant.
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: lol
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: uploading
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: Alright.
<Jiangyi>

<moleman>
ah great. any suggestions what i should get installed now?
<Jiangyi>
moleman: I would suggest Titanium Backup. It has been very useful to me.
<moleman>
i believe cm9 is not yet fully compatible with tb no?
<Jiangyi>
moleman, Backing up and restoring apps work for me.
<moleman>
awesome. getting it
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: tell me that wifi works
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: It's flashing just now. Copying took forever.
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: If wifi works, then I can go to bed happy :-D
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: yes :-D
<doldrim>
hey, codeworkx, i know you said before i'd be fine... but, i was just about to flash and saw it says it assumes you already have UCKK4, which im not on.. it says to start in vol up+down + usb, but my bootloader to does support that - sure this will work? (sorry to ask again)
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: Nope. Doesn't work. :(
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: gimme logs
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: New logs are in the drive.
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: not yet :-D
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: Oops, forgot to share them. Sorry about that.
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: hmmm. same shit on wifi
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: hope they'll release ics this month
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: So no good news? :(
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: no :-(
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: Aww.... What about the weird camera issue?
<bbqbot>
derp
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: i have to work on the opensource omx to get the camera working. but this would take much longer than waiting for official ics :-D
<Jiangyi>
codeworkx: Ah I see.
<codeworkx>
Jiangyi: with some cool hacks i might get wifi working, but that's not the way to go

was wondering. is anyone going to try and port over S Voice and other features when the S3 is released?
<addi>
yes, the copypaste and porting-expert devs on XDA probably will. not sure about the CM devs :p
zcat has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<raymonddull>
addi, it'll probably be cloned like the notification power widget and things like that were from sgs1
<addi>
well, tbh, i don't really see that much use for features like direct call :p
<raymonddull>
if the devs like it enough it'll be coded to be similar, and add cool features samsung didnt have
<addi>
yeah. that's for sure
<addi>
will be made even more useful once the devs get on it
<raymonddull>

hey guys can anyone tell me source for galaxynote is complete other than extract-files.sh, i compiled successfully but device wont boot. boot.img is good i tested with another build, any idea device is not booting.. all i get is a black screen .. is der any way to get some log for above situation?
<DuperMan>
nizam: got stuck at the same place so I'm assuming 'no'. how did you create a boot image?
GuineaPiet has quit [Ping timeout: 245 seconds]
<DuperMan>
I cobbled one with l9100 libs at one attempt and on another by hobbling the files as best as I could until the kernel would build
<nizam>
you are right, i manually modified extract files.sh and build is successfull
<DuperMan>
(though not into a cwm falshable package, and being lazy I haven't tested the boot image with another build - shame:)
<DuperMan>
afaik it's just kinda stuck atm, and it seems to be incomplete - my rom update turned out 20mb smaller than xplodwild's
<DuperMan>
did yours too?
<nizam>
i got only 1-2 mb diff
<DuperMan>
hmmmmmmmmm... 20 was a bit off, using my brain it was more like 8
<DuperMan>
but definitely over 2
<DuperMan>
:)
<DuperMan>
a bunch of libs were missing when I compared - probably my fault for trying to hack the sgs2 setup-makefiles
<nizam>
do you need my extract files.sh?
<DuperMan>
I'd love to play with it/compare, yes
<DuperMan>
wondering how the props from official ics fare/differ
<DuperMan>
(which is why that crap's on my phone currently:)
<DuperMan>
there's a second batch coming up, though I doubt either would do any good :(
<DuperMan>
it's a dang tangle between the vendor as is in the makefiles and the extract script, expounded tenfolds by the lack of a setup-makefiles... nearly makes one fancy ramping one's skills up a notch ;)
dabeeeenster has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<DuperMan>
codeworkx: but I don't care about credit and it's just replacing 'galaxys2' with $DEVICE or __DEVICE__ in the build.sh where the script wants to make a kernel update zip for the whatever
<DuperMan>
also, HOLY SHIT IT'S BUILDING FOR ME NOTE
<codeworkx>
DuperMan: nope
<codeworkx>
DuperMan: did you ever thing about partitions?
<codeworkx>
think*
<DuperMan>
codeworkx: ah! so using it as is without referencing 'those' from their respective device configs will cause a lot of fun
