azonenberg>
So now that i have the starshipraider board set up
<
azonenberg>
i'm gonna try and repeat those pin to pin delay measurements i did on the greenpak
* azonenberg
writes up a BSP file
<
azonenberg>
should have done this a while ago...
<
m_w>
azonenberg: what tools did you use for the PCB assembly?
<
m_w>
those boards look nice btw

my microscope for inspection and placement
<
azonenberg>
some old pcbs and masking tape as a jig for stencilling
<
azonenberg>
oshstencils credit card solder spreader
<
azonenberg>
some old nearly expired paste :p
<
azonenberg>
some fine-ish point tweezers for placing most components
<
azonenberg>
one of those suction pen thingies for placing the BGAs
<
azonenberg>
a pair of super fine tweezers for the 0201s

convection toaster oven for reflow
<
m_w>
must have some steady hands
<
azonenberg>
then a cheap aoyue iron for installin the PTH stuff
<
azonenberg>
I target-shoot and hand place WLCSPs
<
azonenberg>
1mm bga is nothing by comparison
<
azonenberg>
Although the 0201 passives were a bit fun
<
azonenberg>
i'm kinda excited to try 01005s when my rework challenge board comes in
<
azonenberg>
i did them once a long while back
<
azonenberg>
but its been so long
<
m_w>
I did a few BGAs by hand recently and found I was a bit shaky
<
m_w>
I have a nice SMT pickup tool that I ordered for assembly
<
m_w>
well worth the $$$
<
azonenberg>
Tweezers are fine for me
<
azonenberg>
only thing i use the suction thing for is large bgas that my tweezers cant spread enough to grab
<
azonenberg>
and sometimes i just drop them on the approximate location by hand
<
azonenberg>
and nudge into place with tweezers
<
azonenberg>
trick is to get
*good* tweezers
<
m_w>
yeah I use a SMT probe to adjust components after placing
