<d1b2> <rwhitby> I think this is the final front silk. Any final input is welcome.
<electronic_eel> there is a thin arrow in the dfp switch section. you don't have arrows for the other sections. why there?
<d1b2> <rwhitby> yep, I've removed that.
<d1b2> <rwhitby> Also going to add J1 - J9 to label the ports and jumper blocks
<d1b2> <rwhitby> I'm not 100% happy with the "5V VBUS DFP Switch" label wording. Any better ideas? It's a load switch between 5V and DFP, which eventually becomes VBUS if you have the right jumper inserted on J9.
<electronic_eel> maybe just "DFP Switch"? it is very hard to get the full meaning across with just a few words and no schematics. so i wouldn't even try. just give it a name that is easily cross referenced to the schematics.
<electronic_eel> think about the use cases for this top silkscreen
<d1b2> <rwhitby> "5V DFP Switch" ?
<electronic_eel> yeah why not
<d1b2> <rwhitby> I think the 5V-ness is important
<electronic_eel> use case 1) make things the user has to connect to identifiable (jumpers, pin headers,...)
<electronic_eel> use case 2) a short feature list for someone how looks at the board
<electronic_eel> use case 3) allow to quickly find measurement points when you are debugging some problem with the addon or it's code
<electronic_eel> use case 4) allow to identify components in case something is broken and you need to replace them
<electronic_eel> i think for 3) and 4) it is no problem to expect that the user has the schematics and board files open and the silk just guides to the general area of the board
<electronic_eel> use case 5) make it look nice
<d1b2> <rwhitby> Jumpers now labelled for 1).
<d1b2> <rwhitby> 2) is the text down the middle column
<d1b2> <rwhitby> 3) available GND points are labelled, as are D+/D-/SBU1/SBU2/VBUS/5V/DFP.
<d1b2> <rwhitby> I wonder if I should put a test point for the 1.2V rail?
<d1b2> <Uwe> Test point are seldom a failure!
<d1b2> <rwhitby> Added 1.2V test point.
<d1b2> <rwhitby> I think everything now either has a test point or a 0.1" pad to probe.
<d1b2> <rwhitby> Also added a warning at top right.
<d1b2> <rwhitby> And pointers to VBUS and OUT signals.
<d1b2> <rwhitby> With the appropriate label on the 5V->DFP switch, and the VBUS and OUT labels on the TARGET and SNOOP port connectors, I now think that J9 is suitably self-explanatory.

<d1b2> <konsgn[no-Mic]> Maybe add text on the bottom describing jumper settings for common use cases? It's always nice picking up a board after a while and using it without needing to lookup docs/schematics. Seems you have room too.
