Was basically a rebranded Netgear GS724T with a special licensed firmware pre-installed. Unfortunately the firmware was developed before some of the stream reservation standards were complete and the license deal made with them was such that they didn't ever update it to the final standards. :/ I think the 1588 stuff worked fine, at least for what we wanted.

<konsgn[no-Mic]> Whelp, since I'm in quarantine with covid, gunna finish up this mini-glasgow on stream. BTW, anyone know a good single or dual tvs diode to replace the 2 in use in the glasgow protecting the pins?
<d1b2>
<konsgn[no-Mic]> trying to find .5.F single diodes is quite tricky

@konsgn what kind of tvs diodes are you looking for? a replacement for the SP3012-06, the tvs array used for the regular pins on ports a and b?
<electronic_eel>
and i hope you get well again soon
<d1b2>
<konsgn[no-Mic]> planning on cramming in that tvs between pin header pins
<electronic_eel>
hmm, the 3d view is still a bit of a mess, i guess your layout is not finished yet
<electronic_eel>
so it will be something like a glasgow with just one port?
<d1b2>
<konsgn[no-Mic]> Pretty much. Got a lot of the routing done, but that mezannine connector isn't wired up yet.
<d1b2>
<konsgn[no-Mic]> it's a 6 layer board following oshparks guidlines
<d1b2>
<konsgn[no-Mic]> and no cleaning yet on the silkscreen.
<electronic_eel>
so you are going quite a way to make it small, but still got the huge sync connector?
<d1b2>
<konsgn[no-Mic]> haha, why not. you know compatibility 😉 but after reading that it's not really used much yet, i may drop it.
<electronic_eel>
did you see the SP3012-03UTG tvs diodes?
<kmc>
ooh cute mini-glasgow
<electronic_eel>
they are the same spec as the SP3012-06, just 3 channels
<electronic_eel>
in a small dfn package with 0.5mm pitch
<d1b2>
<konsgn[no-Mic]> I'm making this mainly to get a good feel for how the glasgow gets programmed. I had a usb3-ft601-ice40 design in the works for years. but with the idea of pushing the bitstream with the translator made me fall in love with this project.
<d1b2>
<konsgn[no-Mic]> would having one every other pin pair, with 2 pins connected/ spare to Vio make sense?
<electronic_eel>
? sorry, don't get what you mean
<d1b2>
<konsgn[no-Mic]> lemme work on it a bit and get back with a rendering.
<electronic_eel>
just ping me, i go back digging deeper in my register tables and might not see your post otherwise
<d1b2>
<konsgn[no-Mic]> will do. what ip should i ping?
<d1b2>
<konsgn[no-Mic]> ....
<d1b2>
<konsgn[no-Mic]> sorry
<electronic_eel>
you just write "electronic_eel" in the chat, that triggers my irc client to give me notification

<konsgn[no-Mic]> yea, sorry that was just a bad joke... thanks for the advice.
<electronic_eel>
:)
<konsgn>
Bah, Twas too big, should'ave measured. meh, to try to fit the other one now
happycub1 is now known as happycube
<d1b2>
<konsgn[no-Mic]> Alright, I'm gunna try to get a ESD9101 to fit in there
