<Noxz> SpeedEvil, regarding hermetically sealed.. I plan on using BlueSkin VP100 over all of my house when I put new sheathing on
<Noxz> ~30 perms I think
<Noxz> vs 50 for Tyvek housewrap
<Noxz> not 0, but this is a moist climate, so I would like some stuff to escape
<SpeedEvil> would you normally be heating, or cooling?
<Noxz> heating
<Noxz> and right now it's old electric baseboard heating
<Noxz> likely going to do electric radiant floor heating
<SpeedEvil> heatpump gets you ~3-5 times the nominal input power for radiant
<Noxz> hrmm, I may need to look into it more
<Noxz> I havent decided on anything regarding that just yet, just windows and insullation
<Noxz> and a bit of sound dampening

<nmz787> SpeedEvil: how about this for air exchange and heat recovery? https://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-FV-04VE1-WhisperComfortTM-Ventilation-Patent-Pending/dp/B000XJNZ1Y
<nmz787> I mean, it isn't as cheap as your plastic cardboard stuff
<SpeedEvil> not bad
<nmz787> I guess Noxz mentioned this type of thing (ERV)
<nmz787> sync: do you live in a homecmos yurt?
<Noxz> though that awesome discount on the other one.....
<Noxz> just a ceiling ventilator though, I wonder if it can be wall mounted
<Noxz> actually, looks like most places have a price similar to it, do not be fooled by amazon's original price/discount
<Noxz> Matt Risinger (a builder who focuses on the science side of it) has a review of it
<Noxz> I know I've seen it before
<Noxz> cane out beggining of the year
<Noxz> came
<Noxz> currently I just open up my windws ;)
<Noxz> no air exchange otherwise
<Noxz> or from doors
<Noxz> my exterior insullation guy hasnt called, and my bank account shows I havent been charged yet, was supposed ot be charged on delivery to the warehouse, hrrrmmm
<Noxz> thinking about electro-louvers per room, as well
<Noxz> within the ductwork
<Noxz> also the ability to switch what is return and what is supply, so you can extract hot air from the top during summer, or cold air from the bottom (typical air exchange) during winter
<Noxz> anywho, that's not home MEMS related ;)
<sync> nmz787: no, but my house is made from double burned brick
<sync> no need to wrap it with something

<Noxz> OOoo, AlN photodiodes have a very high eV range, 6.2eV.. very much into UV
<Noxz> I'm still trying to figure what end is biased, the anode or cathode, if I want to use it as a photodiode -> electron gun source within a vacuum.. cathode sort of makes sense?
<Noxz> 10.1038/nature04760 reports making a 210nm UV LED from AlN, albeit ineffecient
<Noxz> I don't really care about efficiency.. current SEM electron gun sources are from thermionic emssion from Tungsten.. which in itself is sort of inefficient, that you have to heat up a Tungsten wire to achieve electrons boiling off
<Noxz> I may need to get a tank of nitrogen, heh
<SpeedEvil> Just get a tank of electrons, cut out the middle-man.
<SpeedEvil> https://what-if.xkcd.com/140/ - related
<Noxz> a tank of electrons would solve this problem
<Noxz> yay, exterior insullation arrived at warehouse
<Noxz> only a $15 delivery charge
<Noxz> hah
<SpeedEvil> how much?
<SpeedEvil> I have ~30 sheets of 8*4*10cm that I need to use
<SpeedEvil> (mixed units, yay)
<Noxz> I have like 3 pallets coming
<Noxz> ~1440 sq ft
<SpeedEvil> So, about a fifteen foot cubic building.
<Noxz> yeah, my house is triangle shaped though
<Noxz> ;)
<Noxz> also, no need to put this insullation on the floor nor the roof
<Noxz> so more like 18-19 ft square building
<Noxz> reading through this right now.. http://www.dtic.mil/dtic/tr/fulltext/u2/a531479.pdf
