<Noxz> refinishing because I scratched it during deburring

<Noxz> reading into inductive proximity sensors.. apparently it's easy to make the coils w/ PCB
<Noxz> $2.50 for the IC
<Noxz> (LX3301)
<Noxz> it may be the cheapest method for the ~2cm of tracking that I am after
<Noxz> resolution is actually prime concern
<Noxz> I can certainly see it used more for proximity switches easy enough
<Noxz> my goal of this reading is actually to figure out best way to setup a sensitive low force gauge, to determine force required to buckling a 316L beam back and forth
<Noxz> but, I do want to know distances as well
<Noxz> inductive proxmity sensors use an oscilator and demodulator to get the signal, but I question about using a similar setup for strain gauges
<Noxz> or if that is overdoing it and simply use a wheatstone and ADC
