<john_cephalopoda> Noxz: Hah, just found the company that makes masks: http://laserlab.com/products_and_services.php
<pie_> john_cephalopoda, "the"? :P
<john_cephalopoda> Well, one. But it was the one I mentioned before but didn't remember the name of.
<john_cephalopoda> And the suppliers list in the wiki didn't have a photomask vendor yet.
<john_cephalopoda> So now it has :þ
<john_cephalopoda> If you know other vendors, feel free to create a pull request at https://github.com/homecmos/homecmos-wiki
<Noxz> wow, that is fairly cheap
<john_cephalopoda> Noxz: Where have you found prices?
<john_cephalopoda> Oh, found it
<john_cephalopoda> Oh, yeah, good prices.
<Noxz> $50 USD is completely doable, even for prototyping
<Noxz> now I am looking up vids of laser photoplotters..
<jn__> 4000 DPI is around 6 µm per dot, if i'm calculating correctly
<john_cephalopoda> jn__: They got a list of minimal line sizes
<Noxz> yeah, I calc'd the 8k dpi to be 3.175um
<john_cephalopoda> 38.1um for ortho, 75um for 400.
<john_cephalopoda> *4000
<Noxz> ah, good to know
<john_cephalopoda> 38.1um for ortho, 75um diagonally for 4000 DPI.
<john_cephalopoda> 8000 is 12.7um min for ortho, 25um min for diagonals.
<Noxz> super neat they do linear/rotary encoders, also
<john_cephalopoda> So 8000 can make features 3x smaller than 4000.

<Noxz> Looks like it is basically a very small laser diode and some correct UV activated film
<Noxz> anywho, thanks for the link

<Noxz> Anyone with more info on these laser photoplotters?
<Noxz> very few on ebay, not enough to gauge market value and so forth
