I assume the system will be designed to be fully customizable by the user, and have nothing to do with their real life data (unless they decide to put that in for any reason).

Taoki, while I'm not really familiar with it, an identity securely controlled by the user alone, even if traceable to them, is way beyond the current internet.

im working on something similar, where each app gets its own user identifier to help manage things like surveilance

Just establishing a standard of having many identities makes it easier for people to intentionally separate identities.
