<void09> hello. is there a hard limit to the maximum size of data one can store/serve through a node ?

<graylan[m]> Johann (not gevers): try using pm2 , and also you may want to set max memory to like 500mb.
<graylan[m]> also make sure your port is forwarded and UFW is allowing that port. maybe set high port like 40000 or more.

<void09> graylan[m]: do you know what the size limit (if any) on an ipfs node is ?
<void09> file storage size limit
<graylan[m]> you can set that in the config file.. in .ipfs folder
<void09> I mean technical limit, not user chosen limit
<void09> assuming you want "unlimited"
<graylan[m]> i haven't got a clue.

<agentofuser> anybody else getting super slow speeds on registry.js.ipfs.io?
<agentofuser> I started `ipfs-npm update-registry-index` yesterday and it has downloaded 53.5 MB so far :(
<agentofuser> imo it would be good to make sure the first experience is good before publishing the upcoming blogposts on `npm-on-ipfs`

<Kolonka[m]> been hovering at a painfully small number of peers all day, anyone know what the cause might be?
<graylan[m]> Kolonka: if you want give the peer
<graylan[m]> we can try and see if it's connectable to the outside network. most times it's unforwarded port.
<graylan[m]> agentofuser: try pinning the files to different nodes around the world. for example our service oneloveipfs.com does this with videos. we use 5 different countries. hopefully more in the future.

<postables[m]> Kolonka: not experiencing that issue, all my peer counts across 5 nodes are in they're expected ranges

<postables[m]> probably some kind of instability or network issue causing nodes to either not see/connect to you, or drop your connection in preference of other ones

<r0kk3rz[m]> Because brotli is CPU intensive to compress, you want to store the compressed file, but it also requires a bunch of gateway headers so the browser understands what it's getting
