different question... i've published Haiku R1 Beta 2 from my NAS. What's the best way to "seed it around" so everyone isn't downloading directly from me? :-)

ah.. if ipfs listens on 127.0.0.1 , it also blocks any connections not coming from 127.0.0.1

* ah.. if ipfs listens on 127.0.0.1 for api requests, it also blocks any connections not coming from 127.0.0.1 (which breaks it running in containers without changing api listen to 0.0.0.0)

Can implemente ipfs on whonix ???
<Dadou[m]>
I am new to IPFS and i have been trying to publish a file and retreive it from an other host. It ended up working but it took around an hour before my file was found on the IPFS network. Is it normal ? Is there a way to accelerate things up ?

directly connecting the two nodes should speed things up
<Dadou[m]>
You mean i should use ipfs swarm connect <IP of the publisher> ? I will try it, thanks
<swedneck2>
yeah, and the other way round to
<swedneck2>

I think there is eventually going to have to be some sort of a thing to allow humans to access IPFS nodes easier. I have the IPFS extensions installed in Chrome, and I still haven't figured it out. IDs are hard for poor humans to remember. LOL

I hope this question is appropriate but I'm looking into making a raspberry pi that hangs out outside and is an access point, not necessarily connected to the internet. It'll have a few different functions but one function I would like it to have is to be a 'data drop' where people can connect to it through it's access point. I would like it to have a few different options, 'magic link' file share, password protected file share and public file share. Can
<abetusk>
something with IPFS do this or is IPFS kind of lower level than this?

I don't think I have ever managed to get something from Neocities to load over IPFS and I have needed to open them in icognito mode the few times I have ended up there

I can load only mine site traderone.neocities.org but its most likely just because I have it cached
<TraderOne>
But it didn't add it to local node, so it had to be loaded over network
