👍 Ah sure, hydras are nice for increasing overall network performance if the person running the hydra makes sure to have good performance + availability.

I was concerned about "By having multiple peerIDs you make it much more likely someone will randomly stumble upon you." being a strategy of circumventing how the DHT works but just running hydras to increase the ratio of good nodes seems reasonable. Although since v0.5.0 the ratio of good nodes has gotten much better

srid your IPFS install and block store should be under your user/.ipfs, if you backup everything in that folder you should keep all your data.

If you have IPFS desktop there's some taskbar options to open up all the storage& configuration folders for you to also backup.

Hi, I want to create a decentralized game on ethereum and I thought it would be good to make it truly decentralized using libp2p and IPFS. I have gone through chat example of libp2p but my game will be online multiplayer and I need create room, list room and join room functionalities. We can create room using pubpub in libp2p but how can I list all the rooms? Any ideas?

I have been reading IPFS documentation for days but I cannot find knowledge about CID and block persistance in the IPFS. When do items not pinned get removed?

My understanding is that both the Go ipfs manager and NodeJS command line use allows persistance of blocks, but a browser per se cannot do more than read or communicate with a server to write blocks. Is that correct?
