<GeneralStupid> Hi
<GeneralStupid> i recently tried the orangepi pc as dvb receiver. it works but not in fullscreen... even if i chose vdpau as video output. i guess i installed the cedarx drivers wrong
enrico_ has joined #linux-sunxi
<rellla> GeneralStupid: are you talking about libvdpau-sunxi or allwinner blobs?
the193rd has quit [Ping timeout: 245 seconds]
<GeneralStupid> rellla: i tried the sunxi stuff, but i would also try allwinner blobs, if there is a documentation how to install them?!

<wens> gmac still not working :(
<plaes> :(
<plaes> in uboot or linux?
<wens> linux
<GeneralStupid> rellla: what do you think about libhybris and xbmc?
<GeneralStupid> ok another problem... GPIO does not work for me
FDCX has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
FDCX_ has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]

<rellla> GeneralStupid: forget it.
<GeneralStupid> rellla: hybris or GPIO
<rellla> it's not worth putting time into aw blobs
<rellla> in all cedarx based stuff delivered from allwinner. with or without libhybris.
<GeneralStupid> rellla: why not, their not working?
<GeneralStupid> rellla: i could not get the open source one running...
<rellla> how much did you read up on the allwinner (cedarx) story. gpl, support ...
<TheLinuxBug> The most productive video experiences I have had on A10/A20 have been using android + Bubbleupnp + mxplayer + neon.1.7.32 OR smplayer - someone who came around here made a very nice version of it that works in x-windows and then had made a version of xbox that integrated the use of smplayer for videos... you can make XBMC work if you spend the time of it, but they still leverage mplayer
<GeneralStupid> TheLinuxBug: Yes, but android is not an option, because i tried to get my wlan stick running for ~two weeks
<GeneralStupid> rellla: i read a lot if it. But at least i have to decide if i throw away my orangepi and get a rpi2 ... or use binblob stuff
<TheLinuxBug> try that out with vanilla xfce4 xwin install
<TheLinuxBug> runs pretty nice
<TheLinuxBug> ' smplayer version mpv and mplayer compatible wich uses your vdpau; you can put any window in front of it without decreasing framerate, even at 1080p60.'
<GeneralStupid> TheLinuxBug: atm my vdpau does not work
<TheLinuxBug> ah ;/
<GeneralStupid> Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device.
<GeneralStupid> mplayer -vo vdpau -vc ffmpeg12vdpau,ffh264vdpau, big_buck_bunny_1080p_H264_AAC_25fps_7200K.MP4
<GeneralStupid> thats my cmdline
<TheLinuxBug> I think it grabs all the requirements for you, you may try compiling it
<TheLinuxBug> dunno the version he made worked for me
<TheLinuxBug> with only a bit of effort
<TheLinuxBug> and good quality
<GeneralStupid> 10 years ago i started to work as a software dev... i used only subversion and now, its not installed :-D
<GeneralStupid> times changing :)
<GeneralStupid> TheLinuxBug: it uses "my" vdpau
<GeneralStupid> i need getting that vdpau running at first
<GeneralStupid> me-tv supports it too - i guess...

<GeneralStupid> rellla: where?
<GeneralStupid> i already have this
<rellla> there is no other open source code published yet.
<GeneralStupid> ahh ok i need the h3 branch, ok?
<rellla> it's very new and "experimental"
<plaes> GeneralStupid: yes
<GeneralStupid> so binblob is more stable?
<rellla> should be merged already
<rellla> binblob is not the thing, people are dealing or supporting here
<GeneralStupid> decoder.c:63:7: error: ‘VDP_DECODER_PROFILE_H264_CONSTRAINED_BASELINE’ undeclared (first use in this function)

<GeneralStupid> Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device.
<GeneralStupid> Sorry.
<GeneralStupid> So does not work
<plaes> do you have correct permissions etc?
<GeneralStupid> is there something in X i should show you?
<plaes> use strace to see where it fails
<rellla> export VDPAU_DRIVER=sunxi
<rellla> README?
<GeneralStupid> yes yes
<GeneralStupid> plaes: do you want to take a look at my strace
<GeneralStupid> rellla: yes and yes
<rellla> hm.
<rellla> maybe permissions, missing links to libvdpau-sunxi.so.*
<rellla> maybe an mplayer2 issue? try mpv?
<rellla> wiki: "Note: There have been reports that some mplayer versions in certain repositories are not compiled with vdpau support."
<GeneralStupid> i already installed mpv...
<GeneralStupid> one second...
<GeneralStupid> so a "normal" vdpau support is enough to support your implementation?

<rellla> check, if mpv/ mplayer is compiled with vdpau support. don't know the flags ...
<GeneralStupid> how can i debug that problem
<rellla> the prebuilt packages should miss vdpau support, because it's not intended to work on arm.
<rellla> GeneralStupid: i think, it's sth like mpv --ovc=help or --vd=help
<GeneralStupid> is there a prebuild package of mplayer or mpv?
<GeneralStupid> + chromium tells me: libGL error: unable to load driver: mali_drm_dri.so
afaerber has joined #linux-sunxi
<rellla> GeneralStupid: i don't know, i compiled mpv by myself.
<rellla> no clue about chromium, for libvdpau-sunxi you don't need mali.

<rellla> ?
<GeneralStupid> yes
<GeneralStupid> me-tv has vdpau support, too. but it said: me-tv-player (xine): Failed to initialise video driver 'vdpau'
<rellla> hm, the output devices? --vo=help?
<GeneralStupid> rellla: mplayer -vc help | grep vdpau | pastebinit
<rellla> -vo
<von_fritz> GeneralStupid : vdpauinfo?
<GeneralStupid> von_fritz: installing...
<rellla> GeneralStupid: waiting for "mplayer -vo help | grep vdpau | pastebinit" :p
<GeneralStupid> rellla: it was that paste
<rellla> -vc and -vo is the same?
<GeneralStupid> ok... just saying... iam running that stuff via ssh and export DISPLAY=:0
<GeneralStupid> rellla: ohh ok, -vo is empty (for vdpau)
<rellla> so that's it.

<GeneralStupid> i chmoded it and vdpauinfo works
<GeneralStupid> thats good, right?
<GeneralStupid> NOISE_REDUCTION_LEVEL -
<GeneralStupid> <3 thank you. First positive thing with that vdpau stuff :)
<von_fritz> GeneralStupid: HEVC support is missed. Have you old libvdpau libs installed?
<GeneralStupid> von_fritz: i had, but i recompiled the newest git today
<von_fritz> rellla: any chance to have a working VDR with OSD support on H3? :)
<GeneralStupid> von_fritz: it was just an old version of vdpauinfo
<von_fritz> ok
bmeneg has quit [Ping timeout: 246 seconds]
<GeneralStupid> ok i build mpv ...
<rellla> von_fritz: jemk told me, that display driver of h3 is completely different from a10/20 and lacks features.
<rellla> i have to look into that first, also mixer prozessor support, but i doubt that it will be easy...
<rellla> no problem for VE itself.
<von_fritz> Yeah, there is no G2D :(
<GeneralStupid> ahhh okay
<rellla> next will be, that i try to prepare a few of my commits for master branch...
<GeneralStupid> thats why i had these messages in Xorg log
<rellla> von_fritz: the deinterlacer seems to be different, too. i think, thats a separate kernel device now...
<rellla> fullscreen vdr without osd and deinterlacer should be possible, though i don't know yet, how the vsync is done ...

<ssvb> jemk: I guess, my board is the bottom of the barrel, it even failed to boot when the ZQ code was a bit different
<ssvb> yours will probably show a bit better results
<jemk> it does, 528 mhz finished 5 loops
<ssvb> have you replaced the fex file with the one from opi plus?
<jemk> i went upwards again, with a stable operating temperature now, and got up to 600mhz which now has 3 loops
<jemk> fex file is opi plus, but with your max freq and voltage
<ssvb> I tried to reduce the freq and voltage to avoid overheating
<jemk> it failed at bitflip each time, all bits 1 but a single one flipped to 0
<ssvb> with a higher cpu clock speed (1008MHz cpu instead of 648MHz) the test results were exactly the same for me (480MHz dram fails, 456MHz works), so I decided to reduce the cpu clock speed and voltage as much as possible
<ssvb> but some more experiments can be surely done
<ssvb> did you get initial failures at the high cpu clock speed & voltage?
<jemk> I didn't try, i already had it clocked down to 1008mhz for vdpau development because of overheating
<ssvb> ok :)
<jemk> the pattern is even better, all tests failed with one 0xf to 0xe
<jemk> but not on byte lanes
<ssvb> I'm actually tempted to attach a big ass heatsink, but don't want to glue it yet because it is going to cover the test points and make it hard/impossible to do voltage measurements
