<ssvb> jemk: regarding "it works perfectly after longer poweroff until i begin loading spls that are big enough to need buffer swaps. then it doesn't work anymore until i remove power"
<ssvb> jemk: it makes sense to verify if there is usable SRAM at 0x8100000 because I had only taken this address from the A80 manual but had no chance to test it on real hardware
p1u3sch1 has quit [Ping timeout: 250 seconds]
<ssvb> jemk: about the SPL in general, a few things need to be fixed in U-Boot code for A80, for example LOW_LEVEL_SRAM_STACK, CONFIG_SPL_TEXT_BASE and SPL_ADDR constants

<KotCzarny> ssvb, would it be possible to display cpu mhz/voltage/core #/temperature on that h3 tester?
IgorPec has joined #linux-sunxi
<diego71> KotCzarny: I think that you can consider uboot as the bios of almost any arm or mips cpu
<wens> bpi-m3 sold out again :/
<wens> are they really this popular or is the vendor doing really small batches

<KotCzarny> i remember i wanted to buy m3 because of the specs
<KotCzarny> then i came to linux-sunxi and changed my mind
<KotCzarny> it's really nic, octa core @ 1.6ghz and 2gb of ram
<wens> the cheap dev board's only come with vendor bsps

<tkaiser> They finally got how to load script.bin from u-boot and to provide a kernel image that contains all their latest fixes for the BSP

<jemk> ssvb: the spl not executing was my fault, i forgot to adjust .thunk_addr after fixing swap_buffers to include the stack, so it overwrote itself
<jemk> ssvb: now only the dacr problem remains, when this read is skipped everything works
<jemk> would it be a valid workaround to only read ttbr0,ttbcr and dacr if the mmu is actually enabled?

<wazzup> hello
<wazzup> i am trying to make orangePi android working with hdmi->dvi adapter, but without success
<wazzup> there is system_config.fex in the image, which is .fex file, and config fex, which is bin file which can be converted with bin2fex
<wazzup> tried changing both, but without success; monitor supports 1080p, tried with other images (lubuntu etc)
<KotCzarny> if you are still on the legacy there is a switch for htmi
<KotCzarny> hdmi

<KotCzarny> another thing to try is to set resolution without relying on auto conf
apritzel has joined #linux-sunxi
bbrezillon has joined #linux-sunxi
<wazzup> aha, resolution should be supported, i tested with other images
<KotCzarny> also, remember that those hdmi-dvi only convert to dvi-digital
<KotCzarny> so check if your monitor supports it
<wazzup> yeah, like i said, it worked with same board
<wazzup> i have tty shell, but i cant find script.bin
<KotCzarny> maybe its really old u-boot
<KotCzarny> that doesnt support any runtime config
<KotCzarny> grab some normal linux image and check, armbian recently started supporting some oranges
<wazzup> U-Boot 2011.09-rc1 (Jun 21 2015 - 19:33:17) Allwinner Technology
<wazzup> it seems that config bin is flashed to some specific location on sd card

<apritzel> ssvb, I spoke to some cache wizard today: you may need I cache invalidates even with the I bit cleared
<apritzel> also make sure you have the proper barriers: if the boot CPU is an A15, it may do more aggressive optimisations than an A7
<apritzel> also worth to check whether branch predictor maintenance is required
<apritzel> for ARMv8 the recommended sequence after code updates is: (stores), dsb, ic iallu, dsb, isb, (branch)
<apritzel> for ARMv7 it's probably similar, but shouldn't hurt in any way
