Hello. I need some help on buildroot with A20_micro. Added custom git version of sunxi-kernel (branch sunxi-3.4) and u-boot-sunxi(branch mirror/next) compiled wrote onto SD but got no working board. Board is tested with official debian image and working. Any tips?
<plaes>
u-boot-sunxi is deprecated

KotCzarny: got no output..status led also not working(CHGLED LED) which I think is important also
<KotCzarny>
Vaik5eij: so no output from uboot on serial pins?
<nove>
that "cedar" is the name of the media player, in MelisOS
<plaes>
it says that there
<plaes>
cool, didn't even know that allwinner was called boxchip before
<nove>
from there, a large number of applications follow the theme of tree/plants/flowers names
<nove>
also as sochip

bbrezillon, ssvb: boris - if i didn't miss anything, then all of the four parts of your updated https://github.com/linux-sunxi/sunxi-tools/pull/56 series were ACKed. do you intend to update the PR accordingly, so it may be merged? siarhei - any objections?
<ssvb>
NiteHawk: no objections from me, thanks for doing the review
<alain_>
tkaiser: reviewed your H3 buyer's guide, very well written and an incredibly useful overview for a potential buyer. thanks a lot.
<lvrp16>
very nice tkaiser

tkaiser: you should indicate, that the unoffical OpenELEC port is currently using the cedarx-license-issues-library, so that the users that care about license-issues know what they are using
<tkaiser>
nove: jernej: What should I exactly add? I thought OpenELEC also switched to Cedrus (but I'm still an absolute noob in this area)
<jernej>
not yet
<jernej>
I experimented with disabling X11 in it, but have issues in VDPAU renderer
<jernej>
but it is certainly on to do
<tkaiser>
jernej: Thx for the information
<jernej>
in mean in Kodi
<tkaiser>
nove: I think I understand the licensing issues but can you provide a link where the whole problem is outlined in a way most people are able to understand (I remember your link about how people perceive the definition of 'open source' these days)
<tkaiser>
nove: I think I understood +90 percent of this issue but I've to admit that I'm absolutely the wrong type of user since testing DRAM reliability of BPi M2+ the last few days the amount of time I connected sunxi boards to a HDMI display might have been 10 times more than in the last 2 years (adding all boards I've had in my hands)
IgorPec has joined #linux-sunxi
<tkaiser>
nove: So please re-read the 'Amount of DRAM' paragraph at the end and let me add what you think is important

ssvb: Another Armbian user spotted that I made a mistake when creating the wiki for BPi M2+. This board is using DDR3 DRAM instead of DDR3L as used by Xunlong for the Oranges.
<tkaiser>
Olimex reported also that they had problems with DDR3 RAM back then when testing their first H3 board prototypes. So maybe the overheating problems BPi M2+ shows are also related to DDR3 vs. DDR3L?
<nove>
tkaiser: the way that is written, makes believe that the OpenELEC port is official, which is not

<tkaiser>
nove: Understood. Will add 'unofficial' everywhere. Maybe this is 'filter bubble' related since from my perspective (CLI/headless guy) the H3 user community got so much great stuff from jernej that I'm referencing 'OpenELEC' in an obviously wrong way all the time :)
