what is so good about 2e which plus2 can't? should I buy it if I have 5 x plus2 ?
<slapin>
I think you can fry an egg using 5 plus2s if you put drying pan on them and set speed to 1.2GHz
<slapin>
can 2e do that too?
<KotCzarny>
slapin: opi+2 is quite different from opi+2e
<KotCzarny>
it doesnt have internal usb hub, so all ports are full speed with no bandwidth sharing
<KotCzarny>
and no sucky gl830 chip eating one port
<KotCzarny>
and a bit different wifi chip
<KotCzarny>
i dont know if it has anything hw design specific changed too

<rellla>
slapin: the problem, why kodi is not running ootb with libvdpau-sunxi as the backend is, that kodi depends on an OpenGL feature, that lets gl interact with vdpau surfaces. this is OpenGL/NVidia specific and not available on arm and OpenGL/ES.
<rellla>
as by definition, vdpau is not intended to work on arm anyway, so...
<rellla>
a workaround is, to hack these interoperability feature software-based into libvdpau-sunxi and make it use of GL/ES. therefore the app has to be adapted, too.
kido has joined #linux-sunxi
<rellla>
there is work in progress for imitating nv_gl_interop within libvdpau-sunxi as well as use this code then back in kodi. see my libvdpau-sunxi repo on github and the work of user mosterta.
<rellla>
this is the kodi side, for chrome i don't know.
<rellla>
hope this explanation helps.

<longsleep>
lennyraposo: hey
<lennyraposo>

<lennyraposo>
and an image that apparently has the working display and drm/amli portions
<lennyraposo>
you want links?
<longsleep>
sure
<lennyraposo>
it's ahack job to say the least
<plaes>
o_O
<longsleep>
well i am interested in the device tree and their kernel config
<lennyraposo>
I have the config file too and some minor notes
<longsleep>

how are A64 and H64 in relation to each other?
kivutar has quit [Ping timeout: 250 seconds]
<lennyraposo>
other than the target bse (tablet vs ott boxes and 4k display output) from what I ahve weeded through
<lennyraposo>
could it be the a64 just does the decode but won't output 4k?
<lennyraposo>
any manuals on the h64?
kivutar has joined #linux-sunxi
<lennyraposo>
nope
<lennyraposo>
the a64 manual says it is capable of displaying 4k too
<longsleep>
well, i am going to commit the other kernel into another branch on top of my existing bsp-2.0 lichee so its easy to view changes
<longsleep>
accidentially rsynced deleted my .git folder - should not watch tv while doing that shit

<lennyraposo>
I have been using 4.9 not 5.x to compile
<longsleep>
well it is my rsync foo which failed me
<longsleep>
missed some files during import (files which have changed but have same size) ..
<lennyraposo>
this is intesting
<lennyraposo>
let me post the logs of the first attempted build
<lennyraposo>
drivers/video/built-in.o:/home/tyle/lichee/display/hdmi/hdmi_bsp_sun50iw1.c:294: first defined here
<lennyraposo>
referencing some directory that doesn't exist
<longsleep>
that is their libhdmi blob
<jrg>
TheLinuxBug: i'm using it as a shell box
<jrg>
not as a desktop
<jrg>
i learned that samba has a bug when used with mount.cifs heh
<jrg>
something with streams_xattr
<lennyraposo>
so it references the blob
<lennyraposo>
wher3e the hell is it

well, the problem is still the dsi register
<longsleep>
i had this hacked in my tree - trying that hack again now
<longsleep>
lennyraposo: yeah well with the hack its pink again now
<longsleep>
lennyraposo: so nothing changed, provide them the DSI error message and ask what could be the reason
<longsleep>
maybe something in the device tree
<longsleep>
i dont know, when hacking the number of screens to 1 instead of 2 the drm driver loads fine but fb0 does not seem to be connected to the driver
