<DonkeyHotei>
it's "chosen" rather than "kcmdline"

DonkeyHotei: i wanted to include string from kcmdline in dt - i guess i can't do that then?
<DonkeyHotei>
the dt node for a kcmdline is "chosen"
<swiftgeek>
DonkeyHotei: no i meant i have just something else in dt that i was hoping to make parametric via cmdline, not modify cmdline in dt
<DonkeyHotei>
hmm
<swiftgeek>
i guess from quick glance that dt is somewhat self contained and doesn't take arguments :(
<swiftgeek>
so only overlays or edit

anarsoul|2: vagrantc: life happened. I'm just getting back to sunxi work now, but next steps are to do additional testing on multiple boards to see why the patch doesn't always work
<vagrantc>
smaeul: happy to test on pinebook and pine64+
<vagrantc>
though i'm also not quite sure how to trigger it
<smaeul>
I think it's non-deterministic :)
<smaeul>
as for testing, I'll need to figure out how to instrument uses TVAL/CVAL first. then maybe in a week or so I'll have some data-gathering patches to share
<vagrantc>
two of the pine64+ machines running as build machines rebuilding all of debian for reproducible builds, so they definitely get exposed to a variety of different code

jerenej: Here is my dts and otput from drm: https://pastebin.com/GyurJ114. I noticed my hdmi-bridge never gets compared with itself as other components does. Any clue what am I missing? In other situation when I delete hdmi-bridge from dts and uncomment hdmi-connector all 3 components (de2,lcd-controller and hdmi) gets compared ad some point and afterwards starts to bond them. This doesn't happen if hdmi-bridge enabled.

anarsoul|2: inconsistency how? normally it's support for a new compatible, so it only works when the two branches are combined. When either one is used alone, the "new" stuff doesn't work, but doesn't break anything else
