<sunshavi> sbbg: how is ur kernel debugging going?
<sunshavi> adding verbose debug (on bootargs could give you more messages; modify boot.cmd and compile it). I have been debugging 5.6 last week
<sbbg> sunshavi, thank for asking. I just got the latest LibreELEC-64bit with 5.6 kernel, which is quite stable so far.
<sbbg> They backport something from 5.7, it seems, which makes some difference.
<sbbg> I haven't go into detail yet. I'm testing my custom gentoo build with ffmpeg. It look like DRM_prime is finally working.
<sunshavi> That sounds nice. I am on Arch

<sbbg> Just curious, I've seen there are OpenGL wrapper on GLES option in rk3328 media script. From here: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/9310-rk3328-media-script-rock64-renegade/
<sbbg> Is that available too for us? I'm on PineH64, I haven't check it yet. I kind of hope it will help me run full KDE plasma.
<pmp-p> sbbg that probably is https://github.com/ptitSeb/gl4es wrapper, yes it should help
<sbbg> Hi, do you know how do they achieve that? Do that provide an alternative libGL.so or something like that?
<pmp-p> it provides a shim library indeed
<pmp-p> you still have to install mesa headers to use it though

<sbbg> ok, that sounds fine for me. Thanks.

<ElectroStrong> anyone on here have any experience with the Allwinner A10 boards? More specifically, was there ever support added for the video decode engine in the Mali 400 that was introduced into X and/or the 3.4 kernel?
<ElectroStrong> I have a project where I'm bringing my Hackberry back up to Ubuntu 18 or 20 armhf and would like to use it as a project board (possibly video player if there was progress and a remote audio player if not)....

<fALSO> yo tllim
<tllim> hi
<ElectroStrong> thanks anarsoul - I found that out after digging into it a bit deeper and tried catching back up to speed
<ElectroStrong> Ironically - I have ubuntu 20.04 running on a Hackberry A10 now with LXDE - just trying to get past the final hurdle to see what type of video acceleration I can enable

<megi> clementp[m]: https://lkml.org/lkml/2020/3/21/478 this is how lima handles devfreq, looks like it uses dev_pm_opp_set_regulators
<clementp[m]> Yes and this will trigger the same issue, as it calls lima_device_init then lima_regulator_init and after it call devfreq_init
<clementp[m]> Sry didn't if you follow my patches
<megi> I'll have to take a peek :)
<clementp[m]> But i post quite same patch, but it's triggering an error with debugfs as regulator are consume two times
<megi> hmm, interesting
<clementp[m]> Now i'm waiting to now if we take the approach where we get 2 times the same regulator in the same devices
<clementp[m]> Or if we need to update the device_init, and only get regulator if there is no devfreq
<megi> where is the second reference taken from?
<clementp[m]> sorry you can't see with matrix
<megi> ah, for enable in the probe function, I see
<megi> I think you can have multiple references, unless you try to take an exclusive reference
<megi> neither looks exclusive
<megi> ah, I see what the issue is
