<Borromini>
so I take it's a bit early to try test driving 5.10? :P
<Borromini>
my wife will kill me if she cannot netflix.
<Borromini>
i'm already playing fast and loose by running master everywhere :P

master everywhere++
<mangix>
nbd: noted. the armada question was mostly about the impact of HWBM.
<nbd>
i don't think hwbm affects it
<nbd>
i think it's a property of the hw queueing part only
<nbd>
back when i looked at this, i didn't find any code in the driver that even configures queue priorities
<nbd>
so my guess is that they're simply left at hw power-on defaults
<nbd>
or configured by the boot loader or something
<mangix>
hmm OK. I'll try to find time to run some tests.

Is it a known issue (or is that considered an issue), that DEVICE_PACKAGES are ignored on initramfs images when CONFIG_TARGET_MULTI_PROFILE, CONFIG_TARGET_PER_DEVICE_ROOTFS and CONFIG_TARGET_ALL_PROFILES are set?
<adrianschmutzler>
though I'm not aware with the details, I just remember that linked discussion
<tmn505>
I've got report that the necessary package for installation is missing on initramfs image (uboot-envtools) and internet is not always available on the device during installation.
<tmn505>
I'll take a look at it, but if it's to complicated I'll send a patch to include the package for whole target.
<adrianschmutzler>
from the comment there, initramfs images do not include DEVICE_PACKAGES as you stated
<adrianschmutzler>
but no idea whether that's intended or can be changed
<tmn505>
That's why I'm asking.

oh nice
<blocktrron>
the U6 Lite employs RSA verification on the FIT config
<blocktrron>
I'm a bit worried for the LR, as it seems to support a trusted bootchain
<blocktrron>
correct me on that if I'm completely wrong here?
<blogic>
hmmz
<blogic>
blocktrron: way around it ?
<blogic>
like do you get uboot console ?
<blocktrron>
For the lite or the LR?
<blogic>
either
<blogic>
we could just build a new uboot ;)

unless they support arm tz

blogic: sorry, was keeping my kitchen from burning down
<blocktrron>
Anyways, for the Lite it's a "rename signature to signaturr in the control fdt", repackage and write back
<blocktrron>
For the LR, they are using a way older U-Boot which i wasn't able to locate the signature at all.
<blocktrron>
So they might not verify the signature at all ATM and flash a newer U-Boot in the future.
<blocktrron>
But this is a guessing game until we have the real hardware.
<blocktrron>
THey did the same with the nanoHD (shipping with old U-Boot and not verifying the signature) which they later fixed by upgrading the U-Boot
<blocktrron>
mt7915 performs pretty good, even though HE80 is capped at 550 Mbit/s due to the CPU
<blogic>
ok
<blogic>
even with flow offload ?
<blogic>
the mt7621 can do above 550 on AC cards
<blocktrron>
Should this improve WiFi performance?
<blogic>
well
<blogic>
it'll reduce network overhead thus freeing up cpu cycles
