Hey, I have an issue with Process.spawn, I'm using the :out option to output stdout to a file, but it seems to only flush the stream when the application ends, is there any way to have it output to the file as stdout gets data? I want to use this a log but I can't see 'live' info

cross asking because the rspec channel is d.e.a.d. -- i'm trying to create spec examples programmatically - but RSpec::Core::Example.new doesn't seem to respect any arguments that I pass to it. shouldn't @example_block be the Proc that that I /just passed in/? https://gist.github.com/stephenprater/5190175

soahccc: I can't recall, but it may be because the source is in a different file than rb_define_method
<yorickpeterse>
Conference question: if somebody were to talk about the process of parsing code, analysing it (as well as some other bits such as Ruby parser "wats"), what would you be most interested in
<yorickpeterse>
My super nerdy brain is having a hard time selecting something slightly less "lost" people can understand
<fowl>
yorickpeterse: do you mean like writing a parser
<fowl>
or how ruby parses
sailias has quit [Ping timeout: 245 seconds]
<yorickpeterse>
both
<yorickpeterse>
basically I want to talk about bits of the process that I went through for writing my linter (though not focusing on the linter itself), so it's part of that

<fowl>
yorickpeterse: talk about how to write a stateful parser and use it to parse infix exprs with precedence
<yorickpeterse>
I think that will cause people to fall asleep
<yorickpeterse>
I have no intention of doing that and then looking at them with a creepy face as they wake up
<fowl>
if someone falls asleep on you you should make creepy faces at them as they wake up *at a minimum*
