I could put them all in the same file. Since Ruby classes can be re-opened, I could also define the class in two different files, and put the attributes in one file, and the methods in another - to keep the model and method sseparate.

maxmanders personally I'd expect the full definition to be in the file I'm looking at. If people want to separate the same code into multiple files, I'd rather them put it into named modules that are explicitly included, so I at least can see that this current module is not the full picture.

maxmanders additionally, I'd consider it a code smell if you noticed "Hey, this class is getting pretty long" and decided that the solution was to just take half of it and shove it in another file, instead of revising your architecture.

arthurl_: my best suggestion would be to manually get the root certificate for rubygems' current certificate and add it to your server's root certificate store, rather than try to find a way to 'work around' the verification failure
