Reminder: office hours in 1 hour

(maybe if I send enough reminders it will be more than 2 people this time :P)
<JacobWeisz[m]>
Woo! I think we should be using the email list for it more too.
<JacobWeisz[m]>
That seemed to help.

ack, apparently i've been kicked out of irc for 4 days. Sorry i can't join the call tonight, but I don't have anything interesting to share anyway.
<isd>
Yeah, we all got booted.
<isd>
Was just me and ocdtrekkie. He suggested we drop a thing into the mailing list which seems like a good idea.
<JacobWeisz[m]>
It is kinda sad that you don't really get any good notice you're not part of the chat anymore...
<isd>
I usually get a message from NickServ telling me I need to identify.
<JacobWeisz[m]>
I want to say I didn't get a notification for that.

I think a self hosted game room thing like itsyourturn.com would be really neat on Sandstorm. Something where you can challenge someone to a game and keep track of scores and game states and all.
<isd>
"No java, no flash" -- really dates the website :P
<isd>
But +1
<JacobWeisz[m]>
My grandma has been playing Scrabble on that site since the late 90s.
<JacobWeisz[m]>
It's $20 a year to be a paid member, and it is a MF-ingwebsite.com level of simplicity that means it runs on every device just fine.
<JacobWeisz[m]>
No idea where that "url" goes, I was shortening it...
<isd>
The IP doesn't seem to respond
<isd>
(I had to know)
<JacobWeisz[m]>
I also like that site as an example because it's pretty simple, there's not a ton of design needed to make an app like that work, and for a turn-based game you can do everything server side.
<isd>
Not that sandstorm apps benefit that much from avoiding javascript...
<isd>
We do have Go game in the app market.
<isd>
Haven't tried it. Don't know if it keeps the state persistently.
