<xekoukou> Is there any interest in building a general state machine on top of SCP/stellar? Is SCP a partial order Federated Byzantine Paxos like Lambort's Generalized Paxos Consensus? (have't read SCP yet)
<stellar-slack>
<sacarlson> we have in a sense state machine contracts in stellar that can connect to time and or multi signatures. on the multi signature side I have created primitive witness bots
<stellar-slack>
<sacarlson> your other states you think of might just be other asset holdings in stellar?

<xekoukou> No, at the moment I am trying to find ways that distributed servers/organizations could interact and be reliable, in the sense that if one fails, the others can recover. So I think of it more like a database, even though the data will be business/production data.
<stellar-slack>
<xekoukou> Since we are talking about p2p processes and open organizations, we cannot have the standard Paxos protocols, we need federated Paxos like SCP.
<stellar-slack>
<sacarlson> stellar is just a simple open ledger with multi asset and built in trade system. it's not going to keep track of inventory and other such things that a business might need
<stellar-slack>
<xekoukou> I know.
<stellar-slack>
<xekoukou> The stellar team has abstracted the SCP protocol in their implementation. Maybe they have interest in building such a thing.

<xekoukou> Best tradition that we do not have. Thank you for the great software and thank the native Americans for their thoughtful traditions.
