<stellar-slack> <powderfan> I've got some trouble with the `paths` resource. Consider this offer (on testnet): https://horizon-testnet.stellar.org/accounts/GC7DJUFVMD5BYXS67MWAAQSJF6UASF47RY2AUCKOR5J2YTWS6ZNIGS6Y/offers I'm not 100% sure but it was meant to offer 1000XLM for 0.01EUR each. Further I have an account holding XLM and EUR: https://horizon-testnet.stellar.org/accounts/GALYYRH5XCRLVQ3W56PNEZHRV37GY3VFRRFUYU4NNDKOGUAB22OQPUX
<stellar-slack> <powderfan> Then I would expect at least 2 possible paths either when trying to send XLM or EUR
<stellar-slack> <sacarlson> @powderfan: your last order look likes you are selling the same item for itself native for native ? I'm not sure what to expect for that
<stellar-slack> <sacarlson> problem I have with orders is reversing of the price when what sell A for B then the other side sells B for A the price is inverted 1/p. not sure your making the same mistake I do
<stellar-slack> <sacarlson> I'll setup a few more orders to get a better grasp on path for us both
<stellar-slack> <powderfan> yeah cool! Of the links above, only the first one is an offer. The ~send EUR~ is the `paths` request for sending EUR, and ~send XLM~ another `paths` request for sending XLM.
<stellar-slack> <sacarlson> ok you have one order now on the books. your selling native to buy EUR. to to find a path you would have to be looking to buy native for EUR. look like you send EUR is again asking to for source EUR for destination EUR so again no match for your order
<stellar-slack> <sacarlson> I had days of problems with this simple stuf until I really did some orders to clearify
<stellar-slack> <sacarlson> although I have never tried this path thing so maybe I could again be confused
<stellar-slack> <powderfan> Yes maybe the example is not the best, but still it should work. The second `paths` request (send XLM) should return two options: 1. send 0.0001 XLM directly 2. send 0.000001 EUR, order matches and converts to 0.0001 XLM
<stellar-slack> <sacarlson> ya I'm not sure about the path ether we are both confused or it's broken
<stellar-slack> <sacarlson> but orders do work
<stellar-slack> <sacarlson> doesn't path require two assets? it seems it only asks for one in the lab link
<stellar-slack> <powderfan> no it only requires the destination asset. The network should determine *all possible* source assets, that can be converted to the required destination amount
<stellar-slack> <sacarlson> cool. so they I would expect to see in my search for CCC that DDD should be listed a posible destination with there being open orders for both CCC and DDD on two accounts
